Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Chapter IX

Title: Powers and Offences

.....or particulars on which the permission was granted; or (C) is being carried on, or has been completed in breach of any of the provisions of this Act or of any rule or bye-law made under this Act or of any direction or requisition lawfully given or made under this Act or such rules or bye-laws, or (ii) that any alterations required by any notice issued under sub-section (8) have not been duly made, he may make a provisional order requiring the owner or the builder to demolish the work done, or so much of it as, in the opinion of the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer, has been unlawfully executed, or make such alterations as may, in the opinion of the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer, be necessary to bring the work into conformity with this Act, rules, bye-laws, direction or requisition as aforesaid, or with the plans or particulars on which such permission was based, and may also direct that until the said order is complied with, the owner or builder shall refrain from proceeding with the building. Karnataka Sales Tax Act, 1957 Schedule II

(ii) For the purpose of serial number 9 of Part T "timber, rosewood andsandalwood in cut or manufactured form" shall include door or window frames and shutters but exclude furniture. Title: Naming Streets and Numbering Houses

.....side of any building, or at the entrance of the enclosure thereof fronting the street: Provided that no street shall be named or renamed by the municipal council except with the previous approval of the Government. (2) No person shall destroy, remove, deface or in any way injure or alter any such name or number or put up or paint any name or number different from that put up or painted by order of the municipal council. (3) Any person, -- (a) who, without the consent of the owner or occupier affixes any poster, bill, placard, or other paper or means of advertisement against or upon any building, wall, board, fence or pale, post, lamp post or the like, or (b) who, without such consent as aforesaid writes upon soils, defaces or marks any such building, wall, board, fence or pale, post, lamppost or the like with chalk or paint or in any other way whatsoever, shall be punished with fine which may extend to twenty rupees.
