THE PONDICHERRY LANDING AND SHIPPING FEES ACT, 1971 (Act No. 16 of 1971) 4th August, 1971 An Act to provide for the levy of landing and shipping fees in the port of Pondicherry. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry in the Twenty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Pondicherry Landing and Shipping Fees Act, 1971. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Pondicherry. (3) It shall come into force on such date the Act has been extended with effect from 1-10-1963 under Pondicherry (Laws) Regulation, 1963 vide G. O. No. 36, dated 30-3-1971. as.....

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Tamil Nadu in the Twenty Second Year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER " I PRELIMINARY 1. SHORT, TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT : (1) This Act may be called The Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971. NOTES The said Act and the Madras District Municipalities Act, 1920 have very many identical provisions. See 95 L.W. 324.
