West Bengal Maritime Board Act, 2000 Complete Act

.....of the Board with respect to any matter in which he has such interest or is so interested. Section 14 Defects in appointment not to invalidate acts etc No act or proceeding of the Board or of any Committee of the Board shall be invalid merely by reason of (a) any vacancy therein or any defect in the constitution thereof; or (b) any disqualification, or any defect in the appointment, of a person acting as a member thereof; or (c) any member having acted or taken part in any proceedings in contravention of the provisions of section 13; or (d) any irregularity in its procedure not affecting the merits of the case. Section 15 Delegation of powers The Board may, with the approval of the State Government, direct that (a) such of the powers and duties conferred or imposed upon the Board by or under this Act as may be specified in such direction may also be exercised or performed by the Chairman, or (b) such of the powers and duties conferred or imposed on the Chairman by or under this Act as may be specified in such direction may also be exercised or performed by the Vice-Chairman, subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be specified in such direction: Provided.....

Mizoram University Act, 2000 Section 8

Title: University Open to All Classes, Castes and Creed

The University shall be open to persons of either sex and of whatever caste, creed, race or class, and it shall not be lawful for the University to adopt or impose on any person, any test whatsoever of religious belief or profession in order to entitle him to be appointed as a teacher of the University or to hold any other office therein or be admitted as a student in the University or to graduate thereat or to enjoy or exercise any privilege thereof: Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the University from making special provisions for the employment or admission of women, physically handicapped or of persons belonging to the weaker sections of the society and, in particular, of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.

(1) Save as otherwise provided in sub-section (4) of section 25,-- (a) the register and any document upon which any entry in the register is based; (b) every notice of opposition to the registration of a layout-design application for rectification before the Registrar, counter-statement thereto, and any affidavit or document filed by the parties in any proceedings before the Registrar; and (c) the indexes mentioned in section 86 and such other documents as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify; shall, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed, be open to public inspection at the Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout-Design Registry. (2) Any person may, on an application to the Registrar and on payment of such fees as may be prescribed, obtain a certified copy of any entry in the register or any document referred to in sub-section (1).

.....Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Designs Act, 2000 (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS -In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "article" means any article of manufacture and any substance, artificial, or partly artificial and partly natural; and includes any part of an article capable of being made and sold separately; (b) "Controller" means the Controller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks referred to inSec.3-; (c) "copyright" means the exclusive right to apply a design to any article in any class in which the design is registered; (d) "design" means only the features of shape, configuration, pattern, ornament or composition.....

Designs Act, 2000 Chapter 6

.....prescribed form to the Controller to register his title, and the Controller shall, on receipt of such application and on proof of title to his satisfaction, register him as the proprietor of such design, and shall cause an entry to be made in the prescribed manner in the register of the assignment, transmission or other instrument affecting the title. (2) Where any person becomes entitled as mortgagee, licensee or otherwise to any interest in a registered design, he may make an application in the prescribed form to the Controller to register his title, and the Controller shall, on receipt of such application and on proof of title to his satisfaction, cause notice of the interest to be entered in the prescribed manner in the register of designs, with particulars of the instrument, if any, creating such interest. (3) For the purposes of sub-section (1) or sub-section (2), an assignment of a design or of a share in a design, a mortgage, licence or the creation of any other interest in a design shall not be valid unless the same were in writing and the agreement between the parties concerned is reduced to the form of an instrument embodying all the terms and conditions governing.....
