Title: Objections or Suggestions as to Erection, Etc., of Certain Government Buildings Within Municipalities How to Be Made and Dealt with

.....to the State Government a statement in writing of any objections or suggestions which such municipal authority may deem fit to make with reference to such erection, re-erection, construction or material structural alteration. (2) Every objection or suggestion submitted as aforesaid shall be considered by the State Government, which shall, after such investigation (if any) as it shall think advisable, pass orders thereon, and the building referred to therein shall be erected, re-erected, constructed or altered, as the case may be, in accordance with such orders: Provided that, if the State Government overrules or disregards any such objection or suggestion as foresaid, it shall give its reasons for so doing in writing. {Sub-section (3) rep.by the A.O.1937.}

THE INDIAN STAMP ACT, 1899 THE INDIAN STAMP ACT, 1899 [Act, No. 2 of 1899] [27th January, 1899] PREAMBLE An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to Stamps, WHEREAS it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law relating to Stamps. It is hereby enacted as follows: - Chapter - 1 PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Indian Stamp Act, 1899. (Substituted by Act 43 of 1955, Section3, for the former sub-section w.e.f. 1-4-1956) (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir: Provided that it shall not apply to (Substituted by the A.O. (No.2) 1956, for "Part B States") [the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States] (excluding the State of Jammu and Kashmir) except to the extent to which the provisions of this Act relate to rates of stamp-duty in respect of the documents specified in entry 91 of List I in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution.] (3) It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1899. 2. SECTION 02: "MUNICIPAL AUTHORITIES" DEFINED In this Act the expression "municipal authority" includes a municipal corporation or a body of municipal commissioners constituted by, or under the provisions of, any law or enactment for the time being in force. OBJECTS AND REASONS In clause (2) and throughout the Bill we have substituted the more comprehensive expression "municipal authority", for "municipal committee" Municipal authorities are denominated "committees" in some, and "boards" in other parts of the country".- S.C.R. .....apply to such appeals; (g) confer upon the Court of Wards for the purposes of this Act any of the powers exercised by a Civil Court in the trial of suits; (A) prescribe the mode in which powers delegated to managers are to be notified for the information of persons concerned; and (i) generally prescribe the manner in which the powers and duties of the Court of Wards under this Act shall be exercised and performed. .....(d) regulate the disinfecting of buildings and places in which diseased horses have been, and prescribe what things found therein or near thereto shall be destroyed; and (e) regulate the grant of licenses under section 11 and the conditions on which those licenses shall be granted. (3) All rules under this section shall be published in the Official Gazette, and, on such publication, shall have effect as if enacted by this Act. 1[(3A) Every rule made by the State Government under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before the State Legislature.".] (4) In making any rule under this section, the State Government may direct that a breach of it shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month, or with fine which may extend to fifty rupees, or with both. _______________________ 1.
