Nothing herein contained shall (a) bar the power of the Central Government or the State Government under any law for the time being in force, to extend to any place any Act mentioned in the said first schedule; (b) extend any Act empowering the State Government to extend the same or any part thereof, or affect in any manner the exercise of such power; (c) affect the operation of any Act or Regulation heretofore extended to or declared to be in force in any of the Scheduled Districts; (d) revive any enactment which has been repealed either generally or with reference to some special subject; [Cls. (e) and (h) were rep.by Act 8 of 1887, cl. (f) by Act 12 of 1891, cl.(g) by Act 8 of 1890 and cl.(i) by Act 4 of 1894.] (j) extend to any of the towns of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay any law not now in force therein; [Ins. by Act 14 of 1881, s.15.} [(jj) extend to Pargana Bhadohi or Pargana Kera Mangror in the Mirzapur district, or to Pargana Kaswa Raja in the Benares district, any law not now in force therein]; (k) affect the operation of any enactment not mentioned in any of the schedules hereto annexed.

Title: Rights of Individuals to Exact Customary Service from Village Servants Not Affected

Nothing in the last preceding section shall be held to affect any rights of individuals or village communities to exact such service as may be customary from village servants whose watans were originally granted or are now held for the performance of such service, but who have been relieved by 1[the 2[State] Government] of liability to perform such service to the State. ________________ 1 The words "the Provincial Government" were substituted for the word "Government" by the Adaptation of Indian Laws Order in Council. 2 This word was substituted for the word "Provincial" by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.
