PREAMBLE AN ACT further to amend the Indian Stamp Act, in its application to Assam Where it is expedient further to amend the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Act, II of 1899), (hereinafter called the principal Act), in its application to Assam, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the fortieth Year of the Republic of India as follows,-- _____________________________ Published in the Assam Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 6th July, 1989. Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Indian Stamp (Assam Amendment) Act, 1989. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force on such date (With effect from 30. 4. 1990, vide Notification No. EST. 2/89/89, dated 6th April, 1990, and published in the Assam Gazette Extraordinary No. 62, dated 11th April, 1990) as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint. 1[20M. Sharing with landowners the difference in price of a land when transferred for a higher consideration - Whenever any land acquired under this Act is transferred to any person for a consideration, eighty per cent, of the difference in the acquisition cost and the consideration received, which in no case shall be less than the acquisition cost, shall be shared amongst the persons from whom the lands were acquired or their heirs, in proportion to the value at which the lands were acquired, and for the purpose, a separate fund may be maintained which shall be administered by the competent authority in such manner as may be prescribed by the Central Government. ________________________________________________ 1. Small Industries Developement Bank of India Act, 1989 Section 46

Title: Nomination by Depositors or Holders of Bonds or Other Securities

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law, where a nomination in respect of any deposits, bonds or other securities kept with or issued by the Small Industries Bank is made in the prescribed manner, the amount due on such deposits, bonds or other securities shall, on the death of the depositor or holder thereof, vest in, and be payable to, the nominee subject to any right, title, interest or claim of any other person, in relation to such deposits, bonds or other securities. (2) Any payment by the Small Industries Bank in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be a full discharge of its liability in respect of such deposits, bonds or securities.

(6) Where the amount of contribution payable under this Act involves a fraction of a rupee, the scheme may provide for the rounding of such fraction to the nearest rupee. 5 .
