Nursing Council Act, 1947 Complete Act

.....constitute an Indian Nursing Council in order to establish a uniform standard of training for nurses, midwives and health visitors; It is hereby enacted as follows :- This Act has been extended to the States merged in the State of Bombay: see Bom, Act 4 of 1950, section 3and Schedule II, Pt. I (30-3-1950). It is now extended to the Union territories of- (1)Dadra and Nagar Haveli, by Regn. 6 of l963; (2) Pondicherry, by Regn. 7 of 1963 (1-10-1963): (3) Goa, Daman and Diu, by Regn. 11 of 1963 (1-2-1965). SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called The Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947. (2)1[It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.] (3) It shall come into force at once. SECTION 02: INTERPRETATION - In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "the Council" means the2[Council] constituted under this Act; (b) "prescribed" means prescribed by regulations made undersection 16-;' (c) "3[States] Council" means a Council (by whatever name called) constituted under the law of a3[State] to regulate the registration of nurses, midwives or health visitors in the3[State]; (d) " 3[State] register".....

.....ACT, 1956 MEDICAL COUNCIL ACT, 1956 102 of 1956 30th December, 1956 "The objects of this Bill are to amend the Indian Medical Council Act, 1933 (Act 27 of 1933)- (a) to give representation to licentiate members of the medical profession, a large number of whom are still practising in the country, (b) to provide for the registration of the names of citizens of India who have obtained foreign medical qualifications which are not at present recognised .under the existing Act; (e) to provide for the temporary' recognition of medical qualifications granted by medical institutions in countries outside India with which no scheme of reciprocity exists in cases where the medical practitioners concerned are attached for the time being to any medical institution in India for the purpose of teaching or research or for any charitable object; (d) to provide for the formation of a Committee of Post-graduate Medical Education for the purpose of assisting the Medical Council of India to prescribe standards of post-graduate medical education for the guidance of Universities and to advise Universities in the matter of securing uniform standards for post-graduate medical education.....

.....It is hereby enacted in the Seventeenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Nurses Act, 1966. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra. (3)(a) Section 1 shall come into force at once. (b) The remaining provisions of this Act (except Chapters V and VI) shall come into force on such 2[date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. (c) Chapter V shall come into force in the Bombay area on the date on which the remaining provisions come into force under clause (b); but that Chapter shall come into force in the rest of the State on such subsequent date as the State Government may, by like notification, appoint. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS In this Act unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "affiliated institution" means an institution for the nursing of the sick, maternity or child welfare, which is or which is deemed to be affiliated to the Council in accordance with this.....

The Orissa Transport Vehicles (Levy of Toll) Act, 1992 Complete Act

.....Tax Officer is satisfied after making such enquiry as he may deem necessary that any person has committed a breach of any of the provisions of this Act or the rules, he may order that such person shall pay, by way of penalty in addition to the toll, if any, payable by him a sum not exceeding two hundred and fifty rupees: Provided that no such order shall be made unless such person has been given a reasonable opportunity of being heard Appeal. 8 . Any person aggrieved by an order made under section 7 or any order of detention of any transport vehicle or any part or accessory thereof made under section 6, may, within thirty days from the date of communication of such order to him, prefer an appeal to such appellate authority as may be prescribed and the order of such appellate authority shall be final. Manner of levy payment and collection of toll. 9 . (1) The toll shall be levied, paid and collected in such manner as may be prescribed. (2) Without prejudice to the provisions of sun-section (1) any toll, penalty or other dues recoverable under this Act, if not paid within fifteen days of its becoming due, may be recovered in the same manner as arrears of land revenue. .....
