FINANCE ACT, 1986 FINANCE ACT, 1986 23 of 1986 An Act to give effect to the financial proposals of the Central Government for the financial year 1986-87 BE it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows :--- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called The Finance Act 1986. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, sectioins 2-to47-(excepts ections 27-,34-,35-and36-) shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1986. SECTION 02: INCOME-TAX (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3), for the assessment year commencing on the 1st day of April, 1986, income-tax shall be charged at the rates specified in Part I of the First Schedule and shall be increased in the cases to which Paragraph E of that Part applies, by a surcharge, calculated in each case in the manner provided therein :- Provided that where an assessee, being a company, has made, during the financial year commencing on the 1st day of April, 1985 any deposit with the Industrial Development Bank of India established under theIndustrial Development Bank of India Act, 1964-, under the Companies Deposits.....

Shipping Development Fund Committee (Abolition) Act, 1986 Complete Act

.....of a ship owner which is a company shall be entitled to any compensation for the loss of office or for the premature termination, under this Act, of any contract of management entered into by him with such company. (2) Nothing contained in sub-section (1) shall affect the right of any such managing or whole-time director, or any other director or manager or any such person in charge of management to recover from the ship owner moneys recoverable otherwise than by way of such compensation. Title: Punishment of Persons of the Rank of Assistant Commander

.....Inspector-General may, in the prescribed manner, proceed against a person of the rank of an Assistant Commander who is charged with an offence under this Act and award one or more of the following punishments, that is to say,-- (a) forfeiture of seniority, or in the case of any of them whose promotion depends upon the length of service, forfeiture of service for the purpose of promotion for a period not exceeding one year, but subject to the right of the accused previous to the award to elect to be tried by a General Security Guard Court; (b) severe reprimand or reprimand; (c) deduction from pay and allowances of any sum required to make good any proved loss or damage occasioned by the offence of which he is convicted. (2) An officer of the rank of a Group Commander may, in the prescribed manner, proceed against a person of the rank of an Assistant Commander who is charged with an offence under this Act and award any one or both of the following punishments, that is to say,-- (a) severe reprimand or reprimand; (b) deduction from pay and allowances of any sum required to make good any proved loss or damage occasioned by the offence of which he is convicted.

THE KERALA PRESERVATION OF TREES ACT, 1986[1] THE KERALA PRESERVATION OF TREES ACT, 1986[1] (ACT 35 OF 1986) An Act to provide for the preservation of trees in the State of Kerala. Preamble.-WHEREAS there has been indiscriminate felling and destruction of trees, in the State of Kerala resulting in considerable soil erosion and destruction and loss of the timber wealth of the State; AND WHEREAS with a view to prevent soil erosion and destruction and loss of the timber wealth in the State, it is necessary to regulate the felling and destruction of trees in the State; BE it enacted in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement.-This Act may be called the Kerala Preservation of Trees Act, 1986. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 18th day of June, 1983. 2.
