Title: Joint Meetings of Zonal Councils

State: Central

Year: 1956

(1) Where it is represented to the Zonal Council for any zone that a matter in which a State included in that zone and one or more States included in any other zone or zones have a common interest should be discussed at a joint meeting, it shall be lawful for the Zonal Councils concerned -- (a) to meet at such time and place as the Chairman thereof may, in counsultation with each other, appoint in this behalf; and (b) to discuss the said matter at such joint meeting and make recommendations to the Governments concerned as to the action to be taken on that matter. (2) The Central Government may make rules for regulating the procedure at joint meetings of the Zonal Councils.

Title: Requirements for Registration of Joint-stock Companies

.....days before the day of registration, were members of the company, with the addition of the shares or stock held by them respectively, distinguishing, in cases where the shares are numbered, each share by its number; (b) a copy of any Act of Parliament or other Indian law, Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom, Royal Charter, Letters Patent, deed of settlement, deed of partnership or other instrument constituting or regulating the company; and (c) if the company is intended to be registered as a limited company, a statement specifying the following particulars: (i) the nominal share capital of the company and the number of shares into which it is divided or the amount of stock of which it consists; (ii) the number of shares taken and the amount paid on each share; (iii) the name of the company, with the addition of the word "Limited" or "Private Limited" as the case may require, as the last word or words thereof; and (iv) in the case of a company intended to be registered as a company limited by guarantee, a copy of the resolution declaring the amount of the guarantee.

Title: Requirements for Registration of Companies Not Being "joint-stockcompanies"

Title: Guardian Not to Be Appointed for Minors Undivided Interest in Joint Family Property

Where a minor has an undivided interest in joint family property and the property is under the management of an adult member of the family, no guardian shall be appointed for the minor in respect of such undivided interest: Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to affect the jurisdiction of a High Court to appoint a guardian in respect of such interest.

Title: Definition of "joint-stock Company"

(1) For the purposes of this Part, so far as it relates to me registration of companies as companies limited by shares, a joint-stock company means a company having a permanent paid up or nominal share capital of fixed amount divided into shares, also of fixed amount, or held and transferable as stock or divided and held partly in the one way and partly in the other, and formed on the principle of having for its members the holders of those shares or that stock, and no other persons. (2) Such a company, when registered with limited liability under this Act, shall be deemed to be a company limited by shares.

.....(2) Any rule or order under this section may be made so as to be retrospective to any date not earlier than the 1st day of November, 1956. (3) Rules or orders made under this section shall have effect as if enacted in this Act. SECTION 09: REPEAL The Bombay Legislature Members' Salaries and Allowances Act, 1937 (Bom. III of 1937), the Bombay Legislature Members' Daily Allowance Act, 1950 (Bom. XXI of 1950) and the Bombay Legislature Members' Traveling Allowance Act, 1950 (Bom. XLV of 1950) (in this section referred to as the said Acts), and any law corresponding to the provisions of this Act in force immediately before the 1st day of November, 1956 in or in relation to any territories which after that date form part of the new State of Bombay shall stand repealed: Provided that , notwithstanding such repeal any rules or orders made under the said Act, shall, so far as they are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, continue in force and be deemed to have been made under the provisions of this Act, unless and until they are superseded by any rules or orders made under this Act.
