Information Technology Act, 2000 Complete Act

Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 49

Title: Joint Action with Other Local Authority

.....to the control of the Board and such other local authority. (2) If any difference of opinion arises between any Board and other local authority acting together under this section, the decision thereon of the Central Government or of an officer appointed by the Central Government in this behalf shall be final. (3) When any agreement such as is referred to in clause (b) of sub-section (1) has been entered into, then-- (a) where the agreement relates to octroi or terminal tax or toll, the party to the agreement (the Board, or as the case may be, such other local authority) which is specified in this behalf in the agreement,-- (i) shall have the same powers to establish octroi limits and octroi stations and places for the collection of octroi, terminal tax and toll within the aggregate area as it has within the area ordinarily subject to its control; (ii) shall have the same powers of collecting such octroi, terminal tax or toll in the aggregate area and the provisions of any enactment in force relating to the levy of such octroi, terminal tax or toll by it shall apply in the same manner as if the aggregate area were comprised within the area ordinarily subject to its.....

Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 Section 223

Title: What Persons May Be Charged Jointly

.....of abetment of or attempting to commit any such last-named offence; (f) persons accused of offences under sections 411 and 414 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) or either of those sections in respect of stolen property the possession of which has been transferred by one offence; (g) persons accused of any offence under Chapter XII of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) relating to counterfeit coin and persons accused of any other offence under the said Chapter relating to the same coin, or of abetment of or attempting to commit any such offence; and the provisions contained in the former part of this Chapter shall, so far as may be, apply to all such charges: Provided that where a number of persons are charged with separate offences and such persons do not fall within any of the categories specified in this section, the1[Magistrate or Court of Sessions] may, if such persons by an application in writing, so desire, and if he is satisfied that such persons would not be prejudicially affected thereby, and it is expedient so to do, try all such persons together. ____________________________ 1. Title: Powers of the Executive Committees to Act Together in Certain Cases

The Central Government may prescribe the circumstances in which, the manner in which, and the conditions subject to which, the Executive Committee of the Life Insurance Council and the Executive Committee of the General Insurance Council may hold joint meetings for the purpose of dealing with any matter of common interest to both Committees, and it shall be lawful for the two Committees at any such joint meeting to delegate any matter under consideration for the determination of a sub-committee appointed for this purpose from amongst the members of the two Committees.

Societies Registration Act, 1860 Section 18

Title: Such Societies to the Memorandum, Etc., with Registrar of Joint-stock Companies

Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 Section 18

Title: No Joint Proceeding of Juvenile and Person Not a Juvenile

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 223 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974) or in any other law for the time being in force, no juvenile shall be charged with or tried for any offence together with a person who is not a juvenile. (2) If a juvenile is accused of an offence for which under section 223 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974) or any other law for the time being in force, such juvenile and any person who is not a juvenile would, but for the prohibition contained in sub-section (1), have been charged and tried together, the Board taking cognizance of that offence shall direct separate trials of the juvenile and the other person.

Bombay Children Act, 1948, (Maharashtra) Section 10

Title: No Joint Trial of Child and Adult in Area Where Juvenile Court Exists

State: Maharashtra

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 239 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 18981, or any other law for the time being in force, no child shall be charged with or tried for any offence together with an adult if a juvenile court has been established for the area where the trial of such case is to take place. (2) If a child is accused of an offence for which under section 239 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 18981, or any other law for the time being in force, such child and the adult could, but for the provisions of sub-section (1), have been tried together the court taking cognizance of the offence shall direct separate trials of the child and the adult; if a juvenile court has been established for the local area the child shall be tried by the juvenile court and the adult shall be tried separately by a court having jurisdiction to try the offence. ________________ 1.
