Title: Power of Central Government to Supersede the Central Board and Joint Boards

.....sub-section (1), the Central Government may (a) extend the period of supersession for such further term, not exceeding six months, as it may consider necessary; or (b) reconstitute the Central Board or the Joint Board, as the case may be, by fresh nomination or appointment, as the case may be, and in such case any person who vacated his office under clause (a) of sub-section (2) shall not be deemed disqualified for nomination or appointment: Provided that the Central Government may at any time before the expiration of the period of supersession, whether originally specified under sub-section (1) or as extended under this sub-section, take action under clause (b) of this sub-section.

Title: Constitution of Joint Board

.....are more than one participating State, also which of the participating State Governments) shall exercise and perform the several powers and functions of the State Government under this Act and the references in this Act to the State Government shall be construed accordingly ; (c) provide for consultation, in a case referred to in clause (a) of sub-section (1), between the participating State Governments and in a case referred to in clause (b) of that sub-section, between the Central Government and the participating State Government or State Governments cither generally or with reference to particular matters arising under this Act ; (d) make such incidental and ancillary provisions, not inconsistent with this Act, as may be deemed necessary or expedient for giving effect to the agreement. (3) An agreement under this section shall be published, in a case referred to in clause (a) of sub-section (1), in the Official Gazette of the participating States and in a case referred to in cause (b) of that sub-section, in the Official Gazette of the participating Union territory or Union territories and participating State or States.

Title: Mortgage Executed by Managers of Joint Hindu Families

(1) Notwith-standing anything contained in any law, where a mortgage in respect of financial assistance given by a credit agency is executed by the agriculturist manager of a Joint Hindu Family, such mortgage shall, subject to the provision of sub-section (2) be binding on every member of such family. (2) Whenever such mortgage is challenged on the ground that it was executed by the manager for a purpose not binding on the other members (whether such members have attained majority or not), the burden of proving the same shall be on party alleging it.

Section 60 - Overriding effect The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in any enactment other than this Act.
