.....in force. (4) The auxiliary duties of excise referred to in sub-section (1) shall be levied for the purposes of the Union and the proceeds thereof shall not be distributed among the States. (5) The provisions of the Central Excises Act and the rules made thereunder, including those relating to refunds and exemptions from duties, shall, as far as may be, apply in relation to the levy and collection of the auxiliary duties of excise leviable under this section in respect of any goods as they apply in relation to the levy and collection of the duties of excise on such goods under that Act or those rules, as the case may be. Section 23 - Amendment of Act 27 of 1958 The Mineral Products (Additional Duties of Excise and Customs) Act, 1958 (hereinafter referred to as the Mineral Products Act), shall be amended in the manner specified in the Third Schedule. Section 24 - Discontinuance of Salt Duty For the year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1974, no duty under the Central Excises Act or the Tariff Act shall be levied in respect of salt manufactured in, or imported into, India.

Explanation.-- When any Central Act repeals and replaces (with or without any modification) the Additional Emoluments (Compulsory Deposit) Ordinance, 1974, the references to the said Ordinance in this sub-section shall be construed as references to such Central Act. Section 4 - Licence to use a lift (1) Every owner of a place who is permitted to instal a lift under section 3,shall, within one month after the completion of the erection of such lift deliver or send or cause to be delivered or sent to such officer as the Government may authorise in this behalf notice in writing of such completion and shall make an application to him for a licence for working the lift. (2) An application for a licence made under subsection (1) shall be in such form as may be prescribed. (3) On receipt of such application such officer as may be authorised in this behalf by the Government, after making such enquiry as may be necessary, forward the application with his remarks to the Government. The Government may, thereupon, either grant or refuse the licence. (4) A fee of rupees1[two hundred and fifty]1shall be paid along with such application. ___________________________ 1. Title: Issue of Notice to Show Cause Against Order of Eviction

.....all persons concerned to show cause why an order of eviction should not be made. (2) The notice shall,- (a) specify the grounds on which the order of eviction is proposed to be made; and (b) require all persons concerned, that is to say, all persons who are, or may be, in occupation of or claim interest in the public premises to show cause, if any, against the proposed order on or before such date as is specified in the notice, being a date not earlier than ten days from the date of issue thereof. (3) The competent officer shall cause the notice to be served by having it affixed on the outer door or some other conspicuous part of the public premises, and in such other manner as may be prescribed whereupon the notice shall be deemed to have been duly given to all persons concerned. (4) Where the competent officer shows or has reason to believe that any persons are in occupation of the public premises then, without prejudice to the provisions of sub-section (3) he shall cause a copy of the notice to be served on every such person by registered post or by delivering or tendering it to that person or failing service by the means aforesaid in such other manner as may be.....
