Title: Special Provision Relating to Advocates and Bar Council

.....in the High Court of Delhi. (3) On and from the appointed day, in the Advocate Act, 1961(hereafter in this section referred to as the Advocates Act), in section 3,-- (a) in sub-section (1), for clause (d), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely :-- "(d) for the States of Punjab and Haryana and the Union territory of Chandigarh, to be known as the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana;(dd) for the State of Himachal Pradesh, to be known as the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh;(b) in clause (b) of sub-section (2); after the words "Bar Council of Orissa," the words "the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh" shall be inserted. (4) The provisions of section 17 of the Advocates Act shall have effect in respect of the roll of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh subject to the modifications that-- (a) for clause (a) of sub-section (1) of the said section 17, the following clause shall be substituted, namely :-- "(a) all persons who were entered as advocates on the roll of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana immediately before the day appointed under clause (b) of section 2 of the State of Himachal Pradesh Act, 1970, and who within three months from that day express in.....

PATENTS(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2002 [Act,No. 38 of 2002] [25thJune, 2002] PREAMBLE AnAct further to amend the Patents Act, 1970 BEit enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third year of the Republic of India asfollows :- 1.Short title and commencement (1)This Act may be called the Patents (Amendment) Act, 2002. PATENTS ACT, 1970 PATENTS ACT, 1970 39 OF 1970 An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to patents. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER 1 : PRELIMINARY SECTION 1 : Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Patents Act, 1970. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint : Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. SECTION 2 : Definitions and interpretation (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Appellate Board" means the Appellate Board referred to in Sec. 116; (ab) "assignee" includes an assignee of the assignee and the legal representative of a deceased assignee and references to the assignee of any person include references to the assignee of the legal representative or assignee of that person; (aba) "Budapest Treaty" mean the Budapest.....

SECTION 13A: PERMISSION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW MEDICAL INSTITUTION, NEW COURSE OF STUDY, ETC 2(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or any other law for the time being in force," (a) no person shall establish a medical institution; or (b) no medical institution shall" (i) open a new or higher course of study or training, including a postgraduate course of study or training, which would enable students of such course or training to qualify himself for the award of any recognised medical qualification; or (ii) increase its admission capacity in any course of study or training including a postgraduate course of study or training except with the previous permission of the Central Government obtained in accordance with the provisions of this section. .....by the Central Government by notification in the Official Gazette, on all or any of the goods mentioned in the First Schedule to the Central Excises Act as amended by this Act or any subsequent Central Act, a regulatory duty of excise which shall not exceed fifteen per cent. of the value of the goods as determined in accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Central Excises Act : Provided that different dates and different rates may be specified by the Central Government for different kinds of goods. (2) Sub-section (1) shall cease to have effect after the 15th day of May, 1971, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such cesser; and section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (10 of 1897), shall apply upon such cesser as if the said sub-section had then been repealed by a Central Act.
