Anti Apartheid (United Nation Convention) Act, 1981 Section 2

Title: Application of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid

(1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other law, such of the provisions of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid as are setout in the Schedule shall have the force of law in India. (2) The Central Government may, from time to time, by notification in the Official Gazette, amend the Schedule in conformity with any amendments, duly made and adopted, of the provisions of the said Convention set out therein. (3) Every notification issued under sub-section (2) shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is issued, before each House of Parliament.

Pharmacy Act, 1948. Section 36

BE it enacted by parliament in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Pharmacy (Amendment) Act, 1959. (2) Section 19 shall come into force at once; and the remaining provisions shall come into force on such date {1st May , 1960.Vide Notfn.No.S.O.1042, dt.26th April, 1960,see Gazette of India , 1960, Pt.II, Sec.3(ii), p-1354.} as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different States or areas thereof. 2. Amendment of section I. Amending Act 24 of 1959 :- The Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948), which provides for the regulation of the profession and practice of pharmacy has been in force since 1948. This Bill seeks to amend the Act so as to give effect to the following objects, namely :- (1) the extension of the Act to the areas comprised in the former Part B States; (2) the introduction of provisions necessary to meet the situation which has arisen on account of the reorganisation of States which took effect on 1st November, 1956; (3) the registration of certain categories of persons. Opportunity has also been taken to make a few minor amendments in the Act, the need for which has been brought to light in the course of the administration of the Act during the last ten years. The Notes on clauses appended hereto explain the provisions of the Bill, wherever necessary.-Gaz. of India, 10- 12-1958. Pt. II, section 2, Ext., p. 1253. .....context:- "Court".-Court" includes all Judges1 and Magistrates, 2 and all persons, except arbitrators, legally authorized to take evidence.
