.....to the Registrar of the Small Cause Court; and such amount shall be applied first in payment of the costs of the said distress and then in satisfaction of the debt; and the surplus, if any, shall be returned to the debtor: Provided that the debtor may direct that the sale shall take place in any other manner, first giving security for any extra costs thereby occasioned. Section 66 - Costs of distresses No costs of any distress under this Chapter shall be taken or demanded except those mentioned in the part (marked E) of the third schedule hereto annexed. {The second paragraph,, relating to the application of sums raised as costs towards payment of contingent charges and remuneration of bailiff, was repealed by the A.O.1937.} Section 67 - Account of costs and proceeds The Registrar of the Small Cause Court shall keep a book in which all sums received as costs upon distresses made under this Chapter, and all sums paid as remuneration to the said bailiffs, and all contingent charges incurred in respect of such distresses, shall be duly entered. He shall also enter in the said book all sums realised by sale of the property distrained and paid over to landlords.....

Title: Variation, Impounding and Revocation of Passports and Travel Documents

.....passport authority and the foregoing provisions of this section shall, as far as may be, apply in relation to the impounding or revocation of a passport or travel document by such authority. (7) A court convicting the holder of a passport or travel document of any offence under this Act or the rules made thereunder may also revoke the passport or travel document: Provided that if the conviction is set aside on appeal or otherwise the revocation shall become void. (8) An order of revocation under sub-section (7) may also be made by an appellate court or by the High Court when exercising its powers of revision. ..... (3) The Distress Signal shall precede the Distress Call and Message. (4) The use of the distress signal in any one of the ways specified in sub-rule (2) except for the purpose mentioned in sub-rule (1), or the use of any signal which is likely to be confused with the distress signal in one of the ways referred to in sub-rule (2) is prohibited. Note. Vessels in distress may use the radiotelegraph alarm signal or the radiotelephone alarm signal to secure attention to distress calls and messages. The radiotelegraph alarm signal, which is designed to actuate the radiotelegraph auto alarms or vessels so fitted, consists of a series of twelve dashes, sent in one minute, the duration of each dash being 4 seconds, and the duration of the interval between 2 consecutive dashes being one second. The radiotelephone alarm signal consists of 2 tones transmitted alternately over periods of from 30 seconds to one minute. Rule 5 Revocation of Distress Signal If, after sending out any distress signal by means of radio, the Master of the vessel which controlled the distress traffic subsequently finds that assistance is no longer required, he shall immediately send out a message notifying.....

Cattle Trespass Act, 1966 Section 13

Title: Security in Respect of Impounded Cattle

.....of such cattle and to deposit by way of security such sum as the State Government may, by rules, prescribe. Different scales may be prescribed for different areas or different classes of cattle. (2) If any cattle belonging to such owner are impounded within a period of six months from the date on which the security is deposited, and if the seizure is not adjudged illegal, the amount of deposit or a part thereof, as may be directed by the State Government by rules made in this behalf, shall stand forfeited to the State Government. If cattle are not impounded as aforesaid, the amount of security shall, on an application made by or on behalf of the depositor, be refunded to him on the expiry of that period. (3) On every occasion on which the release of the cattle impounded under this Act is claimed, the owner of the cattle shall deposit a fresh security.

Title: Obligation to Render Assistance on Receiving Signal of Distress

.....to proceed with all speed to the assistance of the persons in distress unless he is released from the obligation under the provisions of sub-section (4). (3) The master shall be released from the obligation imposed by sub-section (1) as soon as he is informed of the requisition of one or more ships other than his own and that the requisition is being complied with by the ship or ships requisitioned. (4) The master shall be released from the obligation imposed by sub-section (1), and if his ship has been requisitioned, from the obligation imposed by sub-section (2), if he is informed by the persons in distress or by the master of any ship that has reached the persons in distress that assistance is no longer required. (5) If the master of an Indian ship on receiving at sea a signal of distress or information from any source that a vessel or aircraft is in distress is unable or in the special circumstances of the case considers it unreasonable or unnecessary to go to the assistance of the persons in distress; he shall forth with cause a statement to be entered in the official log book or, if there is no official log book, cause other record to be kept of his reasons.....

Title: Deputy Commissioner's power to stamp instruments impounded
