THE SIKKIM ESSENTIAL SERVICES MAINTENANCE ACT, 1985 THE SIKKIM ESSENTIAL SERVICES MAINTENANCE ACT, 1985 (ACT NO. 7 OF 1985) (28.6.85) An Act to make provisions for the maintenance of certain essential services and the normal life of the community. WHEREAS it is expedient to make provisions for the maintenance of certain essential services and the normal life of the community. Be it enacted in the Thirty-sixth year of the Republic of India by the Legislative Assembly of Sikkim as follows: 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1985. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim.
