Title: Duty to Supply on Request

.....in sub-section (1): PROVIDED that no person shall be entitled to demand, or to continue to receive, from a licensee a supply of electricity for any premises having a separate supply unless he has agreed with the licensee to pay to him such price determined by the Appropriate Commission. (3) If a distribution licensee fails to supply the electricity within a period specified in sub-section (1), he shall be liable to a penalty which may extend to one thousand rupees for each day of default. _______________________________ 1. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows: -- 1. Short title This Act may be called the Electricity Regulatory Commissions (Amendment) Act, 2001. 2. .....Republic of India as follows :- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE This Act may be called the Provisions of the Panchayats (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996. SECTION 02: DEFINITION In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, "Scheduled Area" means the Scheduled Areas as referred to in clause (1) of Art. 244 of the Constitution SECTION 03: EXTENSION OF PART IX OF THE CONSTITUTION The provisions of Part 9 of the Constitution relating to Panchayats are hereby extended to the Scheduled Areas subject to such exceptions and modifications as are provided in S. 4.
