THE SIKKIM POLICE ACT, 2008 THE SIKKIM POLICE ACT , 2008 (Act No . 15 of 2008) AN ACT To make provision for the law relating to the establishment and management of the Police organization and its functions. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER I Preliminary: Definitions and Interpretations Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Police Act, 2008. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette appoint. Definitions 2.
