Title: All Privileges, Powers Etc., Granted by 53 Geo. 3, C. 155, for the Term Thereby Limited; and All Enactments Not Repugnant to This Act; as Also All Rights and Immunities of the Company, to Be in Force Till 30th April, 1854, Subject to Control

.....granted to orcontinued in the said united company by the said Act of the fifty-third year ofKing George the Third for and during the term limited by the said Act, and all other theenactments, provisions, matters, and things contained in the said Act, or inany other Act or Acts whatsoever which are limited or may be construed to belimited to continue for and during the term granted to the said company by thesaid Act of the fifty-third year of King George the Third so far as the same orany of them are in force, and not repealed by or repugnant to the enactments hereinaftercontained, and all powers of alienation and disposition, rights, franchises,and immunities, which the said united company now have, shall continueand be in force, and may be exercised and enjoyed, as against all personswhomsoever, subject to the superintendence, direction and control hereinbefore mentioned until the thirtieth day of Aprilone thousand eight hundred and fifty-four. __________________________ 1. Cantonments Act, 1924 Complete Act

.....administration of cantonments the spirit of the reformed scheme of Government, recommended a complete revision and an algamation of the Cantonments Act(Act 15 of 1910) and the Cantonment Code, 1912, in order to bring into conformity with ordinary municipal law the system under which military cantonments are administered. The recommendations of the committee have now been examined by the Government of India and the conclusions arrived at are embodied in the BiH. The main features of the Rill are as follows:- (a) It is proposed to lake power to municipalize the government of those cantonments which contain a substantial civil population having no essential connection with or dependence upon the military administration. In other cantonments where these circumstances do not fully exist the administration of contanment. Affairs will be vested in the hands of the commanding officer of the cantonment, who for the purpose of the Act, will be constituted a corporation sole. The general effect will be that the Government authority will cease to be the purely executive .agency as at present. In the larger cantonments the existing cantonment committee will be replaced by a cantonment Board.....

Title: Procedure as Respects Proposals for Amendment of Certain Provisions of Act and Orders in Council

.....on motions proposed in each Chamber by a minister on behalf of the council of ministers, pass a resolution recommending any such amendment of this Act or of an Order in Council made there under as is hereinafter mentioned, and on motion proposed in like manner, present to the Governor-General or, as the case may be, to the Governor an address for submission to His Majesty praying that His Majesty may be pleased to communicate the resolution to Parliament, the Secretary of State shall within six months after the resolution is so communicated, cause to be laid before both Houses of Parliament a statement of any action which it may be proposed to take thereon.
