Title: Choice by Person Becoming Director of More Than Fifteen Companies After Commencement of Act

.....shall choose the directorships which he wishes to continue to hold or to accept, so however that the total number of the directorships, old and new, held by him shall not exceed4[fifteen]. None of the new appointments of director shall take effect until such choice is made; and all the new appointments shall become void if the choice is not made within fifteen days of the day on which the last of them was made. ______________________ 1. .....the Central Government. ( 2 ) Any resignation made in pursuance of clause (b) of sub-section ( 1 ) shall become effective immediately on the dispatch thereof to the company concerned. ( 3 ) No such person shall act as director - (a) in more than1[fifteen] companies, after the expiry of two months from the commencement of2[the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2000 ]; or (b) of any company after dispatching the resignation of hi s office as director thereof, in pursuance of clause (b) of sub-section ( 1 ). ______________________ 1. Reformatory Schools Act, 1897 Section 10

Title: Power of Magistrates to Direct Boys Under Fifteen Sentenced to Imprisonment to Be Sent to Reformatory Schools

The officer in charge of a prison in which a youthful offender is confined, in execution of a sentence of imprisonment, may bring him, if he has not then attained the age of fifteen years, before the District Magistrate may, if such youthful offender appears to be proper person to be an inmate of a Reformatory School, direct that, instead of undergoing the residue of his sentence, he shall be sent to a Reformatory School, and there detained for a period which shall be subject to the same limitations as are prescribed by or under section 8, with reference to the period of detention thereby authorized.

STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS OF THE BILL (Amending Act--Assam Act No. X of 1997) For removal of difficulties in implementing some of the provisions of the Assam Panchayat Act, 1994 and to make the functioning of the Panchayats more effective in Assam, it was felt expedient to constitute a High Power Committee to examine the provisions of the existing State Panchayat Act and Rules made thereunder and to recommend amendment including interim recommendations in respect of provisions relating to delimitation of Zilla Parishad constituencies.
