Title: Establishment of Markets and Constitution of Market Committees

Title: Commencement of Term of Office of Members

(2) The first meeting of the Market Committee, to be called by the Chairman, shall be held on such date as may be fixed by the Director, or any officer authorised by him in that behalf, being a date not later than thirty days from the date on which the Committee is deemed, under sub-section (6) of section 11, to be duly constituted. (3) Where the first meeting cannot, for any reason, be held within the said period of thirty days, the Director shall report the fact to the Administrator stating the reasons for the failure to hold the meeting, and shall act according to the directions of the Administrator issued in that behalf. (4) The term of office of the outgoing members shall be deemed to extend to, and expire with, the date immediately preceding the date of such first meeting.

(2) The property tax shall be levied, at such percentage, not being less than twenty percent and not more than twenty-five percent of the rateable value of buildings and lands as may be fixed by the corporation: Provided that the percentage so fixed may be different in different areas and for different classes of buildings.....
