(2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, sections 2 to 93 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 2007. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER 1 : Preliminary SECTION 1 : Short title extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference to the commencement in any such provision of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision.
