Title: Transfer of Name from One State Roll to Another

.....it appears to the Bar Council of India that the application for transfer has not been made bona fide and that the transfer should not be made, the Bar Council of India may, after giving the person making the application an opportunity of making a representation in this behalf, reject the application. ] (2) For the removal of doubts it is hereby declared that where on an application made by an advocate under sub- section (1), his name is transferred from the roll of one State Bar Council to that of another, he shall retain the same seniority in the latter roll to which he was entitled in the former roll. ______________________ 1. Title: Electoral Roll for a Municipal Area

(1) For every municipal area, there shall be an electoral roll showing the names of persons qualifying to vote. (2) The electoral roll for every municipal area shall be divided into several parts, one for each ward of a municipal area. (3) The electoral roll for a municipal area shall be prepared, revised or corrected by the State Election Commission in accordance with such rules as may be made by the Government in this behalf: Provided that there shall be a preliminery publication of such electoral roll after preparation or revision to be followed by final publication after hearing of objections in the manner prescribed. (4) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the electoral roll for the time being in force for the election of Members of the Manipur Legistive Assembly, so far as it relates to the area comprised in the municipal area, may be adopted as the electoral roll for that municipal area for the purposes of preliminary publication.

Title: Disqualifications for Registration in an Electoral Roll

(1) A person shall be disqualified for registration in an electoral roll if he- (a) is not a citizen of India; or (b) is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court; or (c) is for the time being disqualified from voting under the provisions of any law relating to corrupt1[***] practices and other offenses in connection with elections. (2) The name of any person who becomes so disqualified after registration shall forthwith be struck off the electoral roll in which it is included: 2[Provided that the name of any person struck off the electoral roll of a constituency by reason of a disqualification under clause (c) of sub-section (1) shall forthwith be reinstated in that roll if such disqualification is, during the period such roll is in force, removed under any law authorizing such removal.] ________________________ 1. Title: Correction of Entries in Electoral Rolls

.....if any, as may be given by the Election Commission in this behalf, amend, transpose or delete the entry: Provided that before taking any action on any ground under clause (a) or clause (b) or any action under clause (c) on the ground that the person concerned has ceased to be ordinarily resident in the constituency or that he is otherwise not entitled to be registered in the electoral roll of that constituency, the electoral registration officer shall give the person concerned a reasonable opportunity of being heard in respect of the action proposed to be taken in relation to him.] ________________________ 1.
