Title: Ex Gratia Grant to (25 of 1961) Member of Fund

The Trustee Committee on an application made to it by a member of the Fund, and after being satisfied about the genuineness of the claim, may allow ex gratia grant to such member from the Fund-- (a) in the case of his hospitalisation or involving major surgical operation; or (b) if he is suffering from tuberculosis, leprosy, paralysis, cancer, unsoundness of mind or from such other serious disease or disability.

.....The Trustee Committee shall meet at least once in every three calendar months and at least four such meetings shall be held in every year to transact business under this Act and the rules made thereunder. (2) Three Members of the Trustee Committee shall form the quorum for a meeting of the Trustee Committee. (3) The Chairperson of the Trustee Committee or, if for any reason, he is unable to attend a meeting of the Trustee Committee, any other Member chosen by the Members of the Trustee Committee present from amongst themselves at the meeting shall preside at the meeting. FINANCE ACT, 2001 FINANCE ACT, 2001 14 of 2001 An Act to give effect to the financial proposals of the Central Government for the financial year 2001-2002 BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-second Year of the Repub of India as follows :" SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called theFinance Act, 2001-. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act,section 2-toSection 101-shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 2001. .....consists of a house or part of a house which - (a) is in the occupation of the owner for the 'purposes of his own residence; or (b) cannot actually be occupied by the owner by reason of the fact that owing to his employment, business or profession carried on at any other place, he has to reside at that other place in a building not belonging to him. the annual value of such house or part of the house shall be taken to be nil. (3) The provisions of sub-section (2) shall not apply if- (a) the house or part of the house is actually let during the whole or any part of the previous year; or (b) any other benefit there from is derived by the owner. Preamble.--WHEREAS it has come to the notice of the Government that indiscriminate and uncontrolled removal of sand from the rivers cause large scale river bank sliding and loss of property; AND WHEREAS large scale dredging of river sand also disturb the biophysical environment system of the river in different degrees; AND WHEREAS due to the executive regulatory orders in force, complaints have been received regarding the hardship to the employees engaged in construction works; AND WHEREAS, in the public interest, it is expedient to provide for regulatory measures for the protection of river banks and removal of sand from rivers; BE it enacted in the Fifty-second year of the Republic of India as follows:-- CHAPTER 1 PRELIMINARY.....

(4) It shall not be necessary for a non-resident to furnish under sub-section (1) of section 139 a return of his income if- (a) his total income in respect of which he is assessable under this Act during the previous year consisted only of income referred to in clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (1) ; and (b) the tax deductible at source under the provisions of Chapter XVlI-B has been deducted from such income.
