BE it enacted by parliament in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Pharmacy (Amendment) Act, 1959. (2) Section 19 shall come into force at once; and the remaining provisions shall come into force on such date {1st May , 1960.Vide Notfn.No.S.O.1042, dt.26th April, 1960,see Gazette of India , 1960, Pt.II, Sec.3(ii), p-1354.} as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different States or areas thereof. 2. Amendment of section I. In section 1 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), (a) for sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely: "(2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir."; (b) in sub-section (3), the words "not later than three years.....

THE KERALA KISAN PASS BOOK ACT, 2005 [1] THE KERALA KISAN PASS BOOK ACT, 2005 [1] (ACT 47 OF 2005) An act to provide for the issue of Kisan Pass Book to agriculturists containing record of rights and liabilities of their agricultural holdings in a revenue estate and to enable them to have credit facilities and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. .....the Government of Uttarakhand; (b) "Registrar General" means the Inspector-General of Registration appointed under section 3 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Act No. 16 of 1908); (c) "District Registrar" means the Registrar of the District appointed under Section 6 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Act No. 16 of 1908) and includes the Officer performing the duties of a Registrar under Sections 10 and 11 of that Act; (d) "Local Registrar" means a Local Registrar of marriages appointed by the State Government under this Act; (e) "Marriage" includes all the marriages contracted by persons belonging to any caste, tribe or religion, and the marriages contracted as per any custom, practices or traditions, and also includes re-marriages; (f) "To contract a marriage" means to solemnize or enter into a marriage in any form or manner, in accordance with any customs, practices or traditions in force; (g) "Memorandum" means a memorandum of marriage referred to in section 5 or 6; (h) "Priest" means any person who get the marriage performed in accordance with the custom of the community concerned; (i) "Register" means a register of marriages maintained under this Act; (j).....

.....the same meaning as assigned to it in the Registration Act, 1908 (Central Act 16 of 1908); (m) Words and expressions defined in the Punjab Tenancy Act (Punjab Act 16 of 1887) and Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (Punjab Act 17 of 1887) but defined in this Act, shall, wherever used herein, be construed to have not the meaning assigned to them by the said Acts; and (n) Words and expressions used to denote the holder of any right, title or interest shall be deemed to include the predecessors and successors of any right, title or interest of such persons.
