THE CHHATTISGARH MUNICIPALITIES ACT, 1961 THE CHHATTISGARH MUNICIPALITIES ACT, 1961 [Act No. 37 of 1961] [20th November, 1961] PREAMBLE An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to municipalities and to make better provision for the organisation and administration of Municipalities in Chhattisgarh. Be it enacted by the Madhya Pradesh Legislature in the Twelfth year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Chapter I - PRELIMINARY Section 1 - Short Title, extent and commencement (1) This act may be called the Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961.
