Food Corporations Act, 1964 Section 29

Title: Power to Enter into Agreement for Purchase of Food Grains After Harvest

(1) A Food Corporation may enter into agreement with any grower of food crops for the purchase of food grains after the harvest of such crops and any such agreement may provide that any sum payable by the Corporation to the grower under such agreement shall be payable to any scheduled bank or other financing agency nominated by the grower in this behalf to such extent as may be specified in the agreement. (2) The scheduled bank or other financing agency referred to in sub-section (1), may, on the basis of any agreement referred to in that sub-section, lend money to a grower of food crops who has entered into such agreement.

Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 Section 38

Title: Power to Enter Upon Any Lands or Premises for the Purposes of Measurements, Etc.

Whenever necessary, for the purposes of measurement, fixing or inspecting boundaries, classification of soil, or assessment or for any other purpose connected with the lawful exercise of his office under the provisions of this Act, or of any other law for the time being in force, relating to land revenue, any Revenue Officer and, when under his observation and control, his servants and workmen, when so directed, may enter any land or premises, whether belonging to the State Government or to any other person: Provided that no person shall enter into any building used as a dwelling house or upon any enclosed court or garden attached to a dwelling house, unless with the consent of the occupier thereof, without giving such occupier previous notice of not less than seven days and in making such entry, due regard shall be paid to the social and religious sentiments of the occupier.

Title: Power to Enter Land Adjoining Land in Relation to Any Work

(1) The Chief Engineer, the Water Supply Engineer, the Sanitary Engineer or any officer authorised in this behalf by the Board or empowered in this behalf by or under any provision of this Act, may enter on any land within fifty metres of any work authorised by or under this Act with or without assistants and workmen for the purpose of depositing thereon any soil, gravel, stone or other materials or for obtaining access to such work or for any other purposes connected with the execution of the same. (2) The person so authorised shall, before entering on any such land, state the purpose thereof, and shall, if so required by the owner or occupier thereof, fence off so much of the land as may be required for such purpose. (3) The person so authorised shall, in exercising any power conferred by this section, do as little damage as may be, and compensation shall be payable by the Board in accordance with regulations made in this behalf to the owner or occupier of such land or to both for any such damage, whether permanent or temporary.

Title: Power of Director to Enter into Arrangements for Assistance

The Director may, with the previous sanction of the State Government, enter into arrangements with any person who employs and maintains personnel or equipment or both for fire-fighting purposes, to secure, on such terms as to payment or otherwise as may be provided by or under the arrangements, the provisions by that person of assistance for the purpose of dealing with fires occurring in any area in which this Act is in force.

Karnataka Highways Act, 1964 Section 19A

Title: Power of the State Government to Enter into Agreement for Development and Maintenance of Highways

.....or secure such construction, development and maintenance, the agreement may, subject to such terms and conditions as may be prescribed, provide for the transfer of any land belonging to or to be acquired by the State Government under this Act or any other Act, for the time being in force, to such person or persons by way of lease or otherwise during the period of such agreement. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 48A the person referred to in sub-section (1) is entitled to collect and retain fee at such rate or rates, for service or benefits rendered by him as the State Government may by notification in the official Gazette, specify having regard to the expenditure involved in cost of acquisition of land and construction, development and maintenance of highway. (4) A person referred to in sub-section (1) shall have powers to regulate and control the traffic in accordance with the provisions contained in Chapter VIII of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) on the highway forming subject matter of such agreement, for proper management thereof.

(1) For the purposes of this Act, the competent authority or any person authorised in this behalf by the competent authority (hereinafter referred to as the "authorised person") shall have power to enter and inspect any premises where the competent authority or the authorised person has reason to believe that an offence under this Act has been or is likely to be committed. (2) Every person in occupation of any such premises shall allow the competent authority or the authorised person such access to the premises as may be necessary for the aforesaid purpose and shall answer to the best of his knowledge and belief any questions put to him by the competent authority or by the authorised person.
