Short title This Act may be called the Insurance Laws (Transfer of Business and Emergency Provisions) Repeal Act, 2001. 2. Repeal of Act 62 of 1950 The Allianz Und Stuttgarter Life Insurance Bank (Transfer) Act, 1950 is hereby repealed. 3. Repeal of Act 9 of 1956 The Life Insurance (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1956 is hereby repealed. 4. Repeal of Act 17 of 1971 The General Insurance (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1971 is hereby repealed.

Emergency Risks (Goods) Insurance Act, 1971 Complete Act

.....Central Act. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.- (a) "emergency risks" means such risks arising from,- (i) action taken by an enemy or action taken in combating an enemy or in repelling an imagined attack by an enemy (ii) any explosion or fire which involves explosives or munitions or other dangerous things required for the purposes of defence against any action of an enemy and which happens or is caused by through, or in connection with the manufacture, storage or transportation of and such explosives, munitions or other dangerous things; (iii) measures taken under proper authority to avoid the spreadire of or otherwise to mitigate, the consequences of damage occurring (whether accidentally or not) as a direct result of any such action as is described in sub-clause (i) or of any such explosion or fire as is described in sub-clause(ii) (iv) precautionary or preparatory measures taken under proper authority with a view to preventing or hindering the earning out of any attack by an enemy, being measures involving a substantial degree of risk to property; (v) precautionary or preparatory measures involving the doing of work on land taken.....

General Insurance (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1971 [Repealed] Section 4A

Title: Application of Act 1 of 1956

.....in this Act and subject to such exceptions, restrictions and limitations, if any, as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf, the Companies Act, 1956 and the Insurance Act shall continue to apply to every insurer in the same manner as they applied to him before the appointed day. (3) Every notification made by the Central Government under sub-section (2) shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before each House of Parliament while it is in session for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the sessions immediately following the session or the successive sessions aforesaid, both Houses agree in making any modification in the notification, or both Houses agree that the notification should not have been made, the notification shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that notification.

(1) The General Insurance (Emergency Provisions) Ordinance, 1971, is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken (including any direction given and orders and rules made) under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
