Title: Transaction of Business by the Municipal Council

.....meeting that a resolution has been carried or lost, and an entry to that effect in the minutes of the proceedings shall, for the purposes of this Act, be conclusive evidence of the fact without proof of the number or proportion of the votes recorded in favour of or against such resolution. (4) If voting as aforesaid is demanded, the votes of all the memberspresent who desire to vote shall be taken under the direction of the presiding officer at the meeting and the result of the voting shall be deemed to be the resolution of the municipal council at such meeting. Section 53 - Business to be transacted at meetings and order of business how to be settled (1) Save as provided in the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 59, no business shall be transacted and no proposition shall be discussed at any general meeting unless it has been mentioned in the notice convening such meeting, or in the case of a special general meeting in the written request for such meeting. (2) The order in which any business or proposition shall be broughtforward at such meeting, shall be determined by the presiding authority, who in case it is proposed by any member to give priority to any.....

Title: Notice of Business to Be Transacted Must in Certain Cases Be Given to the Government Executive Engineer

Except for reasons which the presiding authority deems emergent, no business relating to any work which is being executed for the municipal council by the Public Works Department shall be transacted at any meeting of a municipal council unless a letter has been addressed to the Executive Engineer or the1[Assistant Executive Engineer] concerned informing him of the intention to transact such business thereat and of the motions or propositions to be brought forward concerning such business. _______________________________ 1. Title: Exceptions and modifications subject to which the provisions of Chapter V of Part VI of the Constitution apply to the Judicial Commissioner's Court

The provisions of Chapter V of Part VI of the Constitution shall in their application to the Judicial Commissioner's Court have effect subject to the following exceptions and modifications, namely: - (a) The provisions of Articles 216, 217, 218, 220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 224A, 225, 230 and 231 shall not apply; (b) References - (i) In Article 219, in the proviso to clause (3) of Article 227 and in Article 229 to the Governor shall be construed as references to the administrator of the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu; (ii) In Articles 219 and 229 to the State (except in the expression "the State Public Service Commission") shall be construed as references to the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu; (c) The reference to the State Public Service Commission in the proviso to clause (1) of Article 229 shall be construed as a reference to the Union Public Service Commission.

Title: Appointment and Powers of Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer and Other Municipal Officers

.....engagement in other business A Municipal Commissioner shall devote his whole time and attention to the duties of his office as prescribed in this Act or in any other enactment for the time being in force, and shall not engage in any other profession, trade or business whatever: Provided that the government may assign to him any other work of local importance or interest, if in its opinion, he can perform such additional work without prejudice to his duties as Municipal Commissioner. Section 335 - Leave of absence (1) The Government may from time to time, in consultation with the Municipal Council, grant leave of absence for such period as it thinks fit to a Municipal Commissioner. (2) The allowance to be paid to a Municipal Commissioner while absent on leave, shall be regulated by the rules for the time being in force relating to the leave allowances of salaried servants of the Government of his class. (3) During any absence on leave, or other temporary vacancy in the office of the Municipal Commissioner, the Government may appoint a suitable person to act as Municipal Commissioner. Every person so appointed shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred.....

Fire Force Act, 1964 Chapter VII

Title: General and Miscellaneous

.....Officers to aid It shall be the duty of police officers of all ranks to aid the members of the Force in the execution of their duties under this Act. Section 37 - Information on outbreak of fire Any person who possesses any information regarding an outbreak of fire shall communicate the same without delay to the nearest fire station. Section 38 - Indemnity No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against any person for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or any rule or order made thereunder. Section 39 - Power to make rules (1) The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make for carrying out the purpose of this Act. (2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the forgoing power, such rules may provide for,-- (a) the number and grades of officers and members of the Force; (b) the manner of appointment of members of the Force; (c) the form of the certificate to be issued to the members of the Force; (d) the conditions of service of the members of the Force including their ranks, pay and allowances, hours of duty and leave, maintenance of discipline.....

Fire Force Act, 1964 Section 29

Title: Transfer to Other Area

The Director or any officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf may, on the occasion of a fire or other emergency in any neighbouring area in which this Act is not in force, order the despatch of the members of the Force with necessary appliances and equipments to carry on fire-fighting operations such neighbouring area and thereupon notwithstanding the provisions of sub-section (3) of section 1, all the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder shall apply to such area, during the period of fire or emergency or during such period as the Director may specify.

Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964 Section 15

Title: Power of State Government or Licensing Authority to Suspend Exhibition of Films in Certain Cases

.....under sub-section (2), the decision thereon of the State Government or the licensing authority, as the case may be, shall be final. (4) Where an order under sub-section (1) has been issued by the licensing authority, a copy thereof together with a statement of the reasons therefor, shall forthwith be forwarded by him to the State Government and the State Government may, on a consideration of all the facts of the case, either confirm or vary or cancel the order. (5) An order issued under sub-section (1) shall remain in force for a period of two weeks from the date thereof, but the State Government may, if it is of opinion that the order should continue in force, direct that the period of suspension shall be extended by such further period or periods not exceeding two months in the aggregate, as it thinks fit: Provided that the State Government or the licensing authority may, at any time review its own order.

Title: Power of Municipal Council to Require Returns, Reports, or Production of Documents

(1) The municipal council may require the Municipal Commissioner to furnish it with, -- (a) any return, statement, estimate, statistics, or other information regarding any matter appertaining to the administration of this Act or to the municipal government of the1[municipal area]; (b) a report on any such matter; and (c) a copy of any document in his charge: Provided that in emergent cases which do not admit a delay till a meeting of the municipal council is called, the president may call for the information, return, statistics, estimate, or other information, referred to above. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND EXTENT (1) This Act may be called the Legal Tender (Inscribed Notes) Act, 1964. (2) It extends to the whole of India. SECTION 02: NOTES BEARING MESSAGES OF A POLITICAL CHARACTER NOT TO BE LEGAL TENDER Notwithstanding anything contained in the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, or in the Currency Ordinance, 1940, or in any other law for the time being in force, a currency note of the Government of India, a bank note issued by the Reserve Bank of India, or a Government of- India one-rupee note issued under the Currency Ordinance, 1940, which bears written upon it any extrinsic words or visible representations intended to convey or capable of conveying a message of a political character, shall not be legal tender; and the Reserve Bank of India shall riot be under any legal obligation to receive any such note, or to issue rupee coin or other coin or currency notes or bank notes in exchange for any such note, or to.....
