Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 339

Title: Abatement of Crowding in Dwelling House or Dwelling Place

.....down in the said order, to abate such overcrowding by reducing the number of lodgers, tenants or other inmates of the building or room, or may pass such other order as he may deem just and proper, (2) The standing committee may declare what amount of superficial cubic space shall be deemed for the purposes of sub-section (1) to be necessary for such occupant of a building or room. (3) If any building or room referred to in sub-section(1) has been sublet, the landlord of the lodgers, tenants or other actual inmates of the same shall, for the purposes of this section, be deemed to be the owner of the building or room. (4) It shall be incumbent on every tenant, lodger, or other inmate of a building or room, to vacate on being required by the owner so to do in obedience to any requisition made under sub-section(1).

No person shall in any panchayat area bury, burn or otherwise dispose of or cause or suffer to be buried, burnt or otherwise disposed of any corpse in any place within hundred meters of a dwelling place or any source of drinking water supply other than a place registered under section 92 or licensed under section 93, or provided by the Grama Panchayat.

Title: Declaration as to the Religious Character of Certain Places of Worship and Bar of Jurisdiction of Courts, Etc

.....proceeding shall not so abate and every such suit, appeal or other proceeding shall be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1). (3) Nothing contained in sub-section (1) and sub-section (2) shall apply to, (a) any place of worship referred to in the said sub-section which is an ancient and historical monument or an archaeological site or remains covered by the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 or any other law for the lime being in force; (b) any suit, appeal or other proceeding, with respect to any matter referred to in sub-section (2), finally decided, settled or disposed of by a Court, tribunal or other authority before the commencement of this Act. (c) any dispute with respect to any such matter settled by the parties amongst themselves before such commencement; (d) any conversion of any such place effected before such commencement by acquiescence; (e) any conversion of any such place effected before such commencement which is not liable to be challenged in any Court, tribunal or other authority being barred by limitation under any law for the time being in force.
