WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT, 1923 Complete Act

.....by rules made under this Act; (i) "qualified medical practitioner" means any person registered10[* * *] under any11[Central Act, Provincial Act, or an Act of the Legislature of a12[State]] providing for the maintenance of a register of medical practitioners, or, in any area where no such last-mentioned Act is in force, any person declared by the State Government, by notification in the Official Gazette, to be a qualified medical practitioner for the purposes of this Act;13[* * *] 14(k) "seaman" means any person forming part of the crew of any15[* * *] ship, but does not include the master of16[the] ship; (l) "total disablement" means such disablement, whether of a temporary or permanent nature, as incapacitates a workman for all work which he was capable of performing at the time of the accident resulting in such disablement:17[Provided that permanent total disablement shall be deemed to result from every injury specified in Part I of Schedule I or from any combination of injuries specified in Part II thereof where the aggregate percentage of the loss of earning capacity, as specified in the said Part II against those injuries, amounts to one hundred per cent or more;].....

.....IN CERTAIN CASES No notice shall be issued under section 7-if the house- (a) was, at the date of the issue of the notification declaring this Act or the Cantonments(House-Accommodation) Act, 1902, as the case may be, to be operative in the cantonment or part of the cantonment, or is, with such sanction as is required bisection 9-, occupied as a hospital, school, school hostel, bank, hotel or shop, and has been so occupied continuously during the three years immediately preceding the time when the occasion for issuing the notice arises, or (b) was, at the date of such a notification as is referred to in clause (a), or is, with such sanction as aforesaid, occupied by a railway administration or by a company or firm engaged in trade or business or by a club. or (c) is occupied by the owner, or (d) has been appropriated by the33 [State Government] with the concurrence of the Officer Commanding the District, or by the34'[Central Government], for use as a public office or for any other purpose. Mussalman Wakf Act, 1923 Complete Act

.....save as otherwise provided in this Act, any person who is for the time being administrating any wakf property; (d) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; and (e) "wakf means the permanent dedication by a person professing the ussalman faith of any property for any purpose recognised by the Mussalman law as religious, pious or charitable, but does not include any wakf, such as is described insection 3-of the Mussalman Wakf Validating Act, 1913, under which any benefit is for the time being claimable for himself by the person by whom the wakf was created or by any of his family or descendants.
