THE KERALA STAY OF EVICTION PROCEEDINGS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1969 [1] ACT 5 OF 1969 THE KERALA STAY OF EVICTION PROCEEDINGS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1969 [1] An Act to amend the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings Act, 1967. Preamble ." WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings Act, 1967, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; Be it enacted in the Twentieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:" 1. Short title and commencement . " (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings (Amendment) Act, 1969. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of section 1 ." In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings Act, 1967 (9 of 1967) (herein after referred to as the principal Act), for the figures, letters and words "31st day of December 1968", the figures, letters and words "31st day of December 1969" shall be substituted. 3. Substitution of new sections for section 2 ." For section 2 of the principal Act, the following sections shall be substituted, namely: " "2. Definition ." (Act No. 5 of 1969) 7th June, 1969 An Act to regulate the letting of residential and non-residential buildings and the control of rents of such buildings and the prevention of unreasonable eviction of tenants therefrom in the Union territory of Pondicherry.
