Title: Power to Give Directions

Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law but subject to the provisions of this Act, the Central Government may, in the exercise of its powers and performance of its functions under this Act, issue directions in writing to any person, officer or any authority and such person, officer or authority shall be bound to comply with such directions. Explanation.--For the avoidance of doubts, it is hereby declared that the power to issue directions under this section includes the power to direct-- (a) the closure, prohibition or regulation of any industry, operation or process; or (b) stoppage or regulation of the supply of electricity or water or any other service.

.....shall be substituted, namely :- "(3) Where the property referred to in sub-section (2) consists of one residential house only and it cannot actually be occupied by the owner by reason of the fact that owing to his employment, business or profession carried on at any other place, he has to reside at that other place in a building not belonging to him, the annual value of such house shall be taken to be nil: Provided that the following conditions are fulfilled, namely :- (i) such house is not actually let, and (ii) no other benefit therefrom is derived by the owner.". Section 6 - Amendment Of Section 24 In section 24 of the Income-tax Act, for sub-section (2), the following sub-sections shall be substituted with effect from the 1st day of April, 1987, namely :- "(2) No deduction shall be allowed under sub-section (1) in respect of property of the nature referred to in sub-clause (i) of clause (a) of sub-section (2), or sub-section (3), of section 23 : Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall apply to the allowance of a deduction under clause (vi) of sub-section (1) of an amount not exceeding five thousand rupees in respect of the property of the nature.....

(1) The general superintendence, direction and control of the Security Guard shall vest in, and be exercised by, the Central Government and subject thereto and to the provisions of this Act and the rules, the command and supervision of the Security Guard shall vest in an officer to be appointed by the Central Government as the Director-General of the Security Guard. (2) The Director-General shall, in the discharge of his duties under this Act, be assisted by such number of Additional Directors-General, Inspectors-General, Deputy Inspectors-General, Group Commanders and other officers as may be appointed by the Central Government.

Title: Penalty for Contravention of the Provisions of the Act and the Rules, Orders and Directions

(1) Whoever fails to comply with or contravenes any of the provisions of this Act, or the rules made or orders or directions issued thereunder, shall, in respect of each such failure or contravention, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years or with Fine which may extend to one lakh rupees, or with both, and in case the failure or contravention continues, with additional fine which may extend to five thousand rupees for every day during which such failure or contravention continues after me conviction for the first such failure or contravention. (2) If the failure or contravention referred to in sub-section (1) continues beyond a period of one year after the date of conviction, the offender shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years.

Title: Power of the Government to Direct Vesting of the Mills in the Company

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 4 and 5, the Government may, subject to such terms and conditions as it may think fit to impose, direct, by notification, that the mills which was vested in the Government under section 4, shall, instead of continuing to vest in the Government vest in the Company either on the date of notification or on such earlier or later date (not being a date earlier than the appointed date) as may be specified in the notification. (2) Where the right, title and interest in relation to the mills vest in the Company under sub-section (1), the Company shall, on and from the date of such vesting, be deemed to have become the owner in relation to such mills and all the rights and liabilities of the Government in relation to the mills shall, as provided under the Act, on and from the date of such vesting, be deemed to have become the rights and liabilities of the Company.

(1) On and from the date of establishment of the Bureau.- (a) any reference to the Indian Standards Institution in any law other than this Act or in any contract or other instrument shall be deemed as a reference to the Bureau: (b) all properties and assets, movable and immovable, of, or belonging to. the Indian Standards Institution shall vest in the Bureau: (c) all the rights and liabilities of the Indian Standards Institution shall be transferred to, and be the rights and liabilities of, the Bureau; (d) without prejudice to the provisions of clause (c), all debts, obligations and liabilities incurred, all contracts entered into and all matters and things engaged to be done by, with or for the Indian Standards Institution immediately before that date. for or in connection with the purposes of the said Institution shall be deemed to have been incurred, entered into. or engaged to be done by with or for the Bureau, (e) all sums of money due to the Indian Standards Institution immediately before that date shall be deemed to be due to the Bureau, (f) all suits and other legal proceedings instituted or which could have been instituted by or against the Indian.....
