.....ORDERS 44(1) The State Government may, in consultation with the Chairman and the Speaker, make rules or orders for carrying out the purposes of this Act.(1A) All rules or orders made under this Act shall be laid before both Houses of State Legislature as soon as may be after they are made.] (2) Any rule or order made under this section may be made so as to be retrospective to any date not earlier than the 1st day of November. 1956. (3) Rules or orders made under this section shall have effect as if enacted in this Act. SECTION 14: REPEAL The Bombay Legislative Council (Chairman and Deputy Chairman) and the Bombay Legislative Assembly (Speaker and Deputy Speaker) Salaries and Allowances Act, 1952 (Bom. VIII of 1952) (in this section referred to as "the said Act") and any law corresponding to the provisions of this Act in force immediately before the 1st day of November, 1956 in or in relation to any territories which after that date form part of the new 45State of Bombay shall stand repealed: Provided that notwithstanding such repeal any rules or orders made under the said Act shall, so far as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, continue in force and be.....

THE SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF DEPUTY MINISTERS PUNJAB ACT, 1956 THE SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF DEPUTY MINISTERS PUNJAB ACT, 1956 [Act 22 of 1956] [19th September, 1956] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the salaries and allowances of Deputy Ministers in the State of Punjab. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India, as follows :- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Salaries and Allowances of Deputy Ministers Punjab Act, 1956. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 23rd April, 1956. Section 2 - Definitions In this Act unless the context otherwise requires, - (a) "House" includes the staff quarters and other buildings appurtenant thereto and the gardens thereof. (b) "Maintenance" in relation to a house shall include the payment of local rates and taxes and charges for electricity and water. Section 3 - Salaries of Deputy Ministers 1 [There shall be paid to each Deputy Minister, a salary at the rate of two thousand, two hundred and fifty rupees per mensem and sumptuary allowance at the rate of one thousand rupees per mensem.] .....

.....a necessity arises appoint any indigenous Khasi male adult of good moral character, who is a resident and is not employed under any Organisation, to act as Acting Chief when a vacancy occurs. (2) An Acting Syiem or Acting Chief will remain in Office until appointment of a new Syiem or until further order of the Executive Committee whichever is earlier. (3) Whenever there is a change of incumbent on account of Sub-Section (1) above, there shall be a proper taking and handing over charge of the Office properties, duly recorded in writing between the predecessor and the successor incumbents in the presence of some Lyngdoh or Sirdar as witnesses. Any deliberate or wilful violation of this provision shall be treated to be an act of criminal breach of trust and the incumbent is liable to be proceeded with accordingly. 9. Appointment and affirmation of the Deputy Syiem : - (1) When a vacancy occurs in the Office of the Deputy Syiem, a person who fulfill the qualification prescribed under Section 3 of this Act shall on the recommendation of the Syiem and Dorbar be forwarded to Executive Committee for approval.
