XV OF 1956 Under the provisions made under Section 4(1) of the State Aid to Industries (Small and Cottage Industries) Act, 1955 loans upto Rs. 20,000 only can be sanctioned by the Cottage Industries Department and applications for loans over that amount are required to be passed on to the State Financial Corporation. In cases, however, where the industrial concern is not found eligible for accommodation from Corporation, the Cottage Industries Department may consider such applications upto a limit of Rs. 50,000. But the Co-operative Societies being composed of a number of individuals generally require more capital than what an individual requires. The industries taken up by the Co-operative Societies are also larger than industries taken up by the individuals and as such a Co-operative Society usually required more than Rs. 20,000 for developing the industries. The Government of India have offered assistance to State Governments for issuing loans to Small Industries at 3 percent interest per annum only and.....
