Title: Provisions Relating to Conveyances Carrying Imported or Exported Goods

Title: Direction as to Duty in Case of Certain Conveyances

.....shall be chargeable with ad valorem duty in respect of the distinct part of the consideration therein specified. (3) Where a person, having contracted for the purchase of an property but not having obtained a conveyance thereof, contracts to sell the same to any other person and the property is in consequence conveyed immediately to the sub-purchaser the conveyance shall be chargeable with ad valorem duty in respect of the consideration for the sale by the original purchaser to the sub-purchaser. (4) Where a person, having contracted for the purchase of an property but not having obtained a conveyance thereof, contracts to sell the whole, or any part thereof, to any other person or persons and the property is in consequence conveyed by the original seller to different persons in parts, the conveyance of each part sold to a sub-purchaser shall be chargeable with ad valorem duty in respect only of the consideration paid by such sub-purchaser, without regard to the amount or value of the original consideration; and the conveyance of the residue (if any) of such property to the original purchaser shall be chargeable with ad valorem duty in respect only of the excess of the.....

Title: Confiscation of Conveyances

.....it was so used without the knowledge or connivance of the owner himself, his agent, if any, and the person in charge of the conveyance or animal1[***]: Provided that where any such conveyance is used for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire, the owner of any conveyance shall be given an option to pay in lieu of the confiscation of the conveyance a fine not exceeding the market price of the goods which are sought to be smuggled or the smuggled goods, as the case may be. Title: Contamination and Disinfection of Public Conveyance

.....notify such use to the owner, driver, or person in charge of the conveyance, and further report without delay to the Chairperson the number of the conveyance and the name of the person so notified. (2) Where any person suffering from, or the corpse of any person who has died from, a dangerous disease has been carried in public conveyance which ordinarily plies in New Delhi or any part thereof, the driver thereof shall forthwith report the fact to the Chairperson who shall forthwith cause the conveyance to be disinfected if that has not already been done. (3) No such conveyance shall be again brought into use until the officer authorised by the Chairperson has granted a certificate stating that it can be used without causing risk of infection. (4) Whoever fails to make to the Chairperson any report which he is required to make under this section shall be guilty of an offence.

Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 Section 10D

Title: Power to Stop and Seize Conveyances

Any authorised officer may, if he has any reason to suspect that any conveyance or animal is being, or is about to be, used for the transportation of any commodity which is liable to confiscation under this Act and that by such transportation any provision of this Act has been, is being or is about to be, contravened, at anytime, stop such conveyance or animal or, in the case of an aircraft, compel it to land, and (a) rummage and search the conveyance or any part thereof, (b) examine and search any goods or materials in the conveyance or on the animal, (c) if it becomes necessary to stop any conveyance or animal, he may use all lawful means for stopping it and where such means fail, the conveyance or animal may be fired upon, and where he is satisfied that it is necessary so to do prevent the contravention of any provision of this Act, he may seize such conveyance or animal. Explanation. - Any reference in this section to a conveyance shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as including a reference to an aircraft, vehicle or vessel.

Any conveyance or animal which has been, is being, or is attempted to be, used for the transport of any commodity which is liable to confiscation under this Act, shall be liable to confiscation unless the owner of the conveyance or animal proves that it was, is being, or is about to be, so used without the knowledge or connivance of the owner himself, his agent, if any, and the person in charge of the conveyance or animal and that each of them had taken all reasonable precautions against such use : PROVIDED that in the case of a conveyance or animal used for the transport of goods or passengers for hire, the owner of the conveyance or animal shall be given an option to pay, in lieu of confiscation of the conveyance or animal, a fine not exceeding the value of the commodity which has been, is being, or is attempted to be, transported by such conveyance or animal

Telegraph Wires (Unlawful Possession) Act, 1950 Section 6B

Title: Confiscation of Telegraph Wires, Conveyances, Etc

Where any person has been convicted for the contravention of any of the provisions of this Act, the telegraph wires in relation to which the contravention has been made, and any conveyance or animal used for the transport of such telegraph wires, shall be liable to confiscation by the Court unless the owner of the conveyance or animal proves that it was so used without the knowledge or connivance of the owner himself, his agent, if any, and the person in charge of the conveyance or animl and that each of them had taken all reasonable precautions against such use : Provided that where any such conveyance or animal is used for the transport of goods or passengers for hire, the owner of the conveyance or animal shall be given an option to pay in lieu of the confiscation of the conveyance or animal, a fine not exceeding the market price of the conveyance or animal on the date of seizure thereof or the value of the telegraph wires in relation to which the contravention has been made, whichever is less : Provided further that any telegraph wires, so seized and confiscated shall be handed over by the' Court to such authority as may be specified by the Central Government.]

Title: No Conveyance to Leave Without Written Order

(2) No such order shall be given until- ( a) the person-in-charge of the conveyance has answered the questions put to him under section 38; ( b) the provisions of section 41 have been complied with; ( c) the shipping bills or bills of export, the bills of transhipment, if any, and such other documents as the proper officer may require have been delivered to him; ( d) all duties leviable on any stores consumed in such conveyance, and all charges and penalties due in respect of such conveyance or from the person-in-charge thereof have been paid or the payment secured by such guarantee or deposit of such amount as the proper officer may direct; ( e) the person-in-charge of the conveyance has satisfied the proper officer that no penalty is leviable on him under section 116 or the payment of any penalty that may be levied upon him under that section has been secured by such guarantee or deposit of such amount as the proper officer may direct; ( f) in any case where any export goods have been loaded without payment of export duty or in contravention of any provision of this Act or any other law for the time being in force relating to export of goods,- (.....

Title: Salary, Conveyance and Conveyance Allowance Payable to the Deputy Chairman, Deputy Speaker or the Person Performing the Duties of the Chairman or Speaker

.....with the provisions of sections 5 and 6: Provided that during the period aforesaid, the Deputy Chairman or the member shall not be entitled to the salary and special allowance under section 10 or section 11, as the case may be.
