THE VEER SURENDRA SAI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2008 THE VEER SURENDRA SAI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2008 AN ACT FOR CONVERTING UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, BURLA INTO A UNITARY UNIVERSITY AND TO PROVIDE FOR MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH OR INCIDENTAL THERETO. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:" CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY Short title, extent and commencement. 1 . ( 1 ) This Act may be called the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Act, 2008. ( 2 ) It shall extend to the geographical areas of the University College of Engineering, Burla and such other areas within the jurisdiction of Burla Notified Area Council as the State Government may notify. ( 3 ) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification appoint. Definitions. 2 . In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires," ( a ) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University; (b) "Alumni" means former students of University College of Engineering, Burla; ( c ) "Board" means the Board of Management of the University; ( d ) "Board of Studies".....

THE MIZORAM BOARD OF SCHOOL EDUCATION (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 THE MIZORAM BOARD OF SCHOOL EDUCATION (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 (Act No. 9 of2008) [Received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram on 3rd April, 2008] An Act to further amend the Mizoram Board of School Education Act, 1975 (No. 2 of 1976) It is enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram in the fifty ninth year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title extent and Commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Mizoram Board of School Education ( Second Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Mizoram. (3) It shall come into force on the date as the Gov ernment may, by Notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2. Amendment of Section 1. (1) In the Mizoram Board of School Education Act, 1975 (herein-after referred to as the Principal Act), for sub-section^) of section 1, the follo wing sub-section shall be substituted namely:- (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Mizoram: Provided that (he provisions of this Act relating to the education in the Primary, Middle, Secondary and Higher Secondary stages shall not be applicable.....

(10) Where, the Executive Council or the management, does not, within a reasonable time, take action to the satisfaction of the Visitor, the Visitor may, after considering any explanation furnished or representation made by the Executive Council or the management, issue such directions as he may think fit and the Executive Council shall comply with such directions. Section 2 - Amendment of the preamble In the Delhi Degradable Plastic Bag (Manufacture, Sale and Usage) and Garbage (Control) Act, 2000 (Delhi Act 6 of 2001) (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act") in the preamble, for the words "reduce the use of plastic bags, throwing or depositing non-biodegradable garbage" occurring after the words "in recycled plastic bags," and before the words "in public drains", the words "and to reduce the usage of non-biodegradable plastic bags, throwing or depositing garbage or disposable religious material" shall be substituted. Section 3 - Amendment of section 2 In the principal Act, in section 2 - (i) in clause (a), for the words "non-biodegradable recycled plastic bags" occurring at the end thereof, the words "degradable and or non-degradable plastic bags using virgin or recyclable materials; " shall be substituted; and (ii) In clause (k), for the words "recycled, colored degradable plastic bags;", the words " recycled colored degradable and or non-degradable plastic bags; " shall be substituted. (iii) after clause (m), the following clause shall be added, namely:- "(mm) "plastic bag" means a plastic bag.....

Ordinance how to be made (1) The first Ordinances made under sub-section (2) of section 30 may be amended, repealed or added to at any time by the Executive Council in the manner specified below.
