THE KERALA CHILDREN ACT, 1972[1] Act 3 of 1973 THE KERALA CHILDREN ACT, 1972[1] An Act to provide for the care, protection, maintenance,welfare, training, education and rehabilitationof neglected or delinquent children andfor the trial of delinquent children in the State of Kerala Preamble. "WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the care, protection, maintenance, welfare, training, education and rehabilitation of neglected or delinquent children and for the trail of delinquent children in the State of Kerala; Be it enacted in the Twenty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows: " CHAPTER I Preliminary 1. Short title, extent and commencement."(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Children Act, 1972. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Govern ment may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act or for different areas of the State. 2. Definitions."In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires," (a) "authorised person'' means a person authorised by the Government under sub-section (1) of section 12; (b) "begging" means" (i).....

.....This Act may be called the Kerala Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Amendment Act, 1972. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of section 11."In section 11 of the Kerala Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1965 (2 of 1965) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in clause (i) of sub-section (4), before the Explanation, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:" "Provided that an application under this clause shall not be made for the first time in respect of one and the same tenancy unless the landlord has sent a registered notice to the tenant intimating the contravention of the said condition of the lease and the tenant has failed to terminate the transfer or the sub-lease, as the case may be, within thirty days of the receipt of the notice or the refusal thereof". 3. Title: Control of Sanctuaries

The Chief Wild Life Warden shall be the authority who shall control, manage and maintain all sanctuaries and for that purpose, within the limits of any sanctuary,- (a) may construct such roads, bridges, buildings, fences or barrier gates, and carry-out such other works as he may consider necessary for the purposes of such sanctuary; 1[Provided that no construction of commercial tourist lodges, hotels, zoos and safari parks shall be undertaken inside a sanctuary except with the prior approval of the National Board.] (b) shall take such steps as will ensure the security of wild animals in the sanctuary and the preservation of the sanctuary and wild animals therein; (c) may take such measures, in the interests of wild life, as he may consider necessary for the improvement of any habitat; (d) may regulate, control or prohibit, in keeping with the interests of wild life, the grazing or movement of2[live-stock]. 3[***] ____________________ 1.
