Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 Complete Act

.....convention, relating to narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances which may be ratified or acceded to by India after the commencement of this Act. (x) "manufacture", in relation to narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, includes- (1) all processes other than production by which such drugs or substances may be obtained; (2) refining of such drugs or substances; (3) transformation of such drugs or substances; and (4) making of preparation (otherwise than in a pharmacy on prescription) with or containing such drugs or substances; (xi) "manufactured drug" means- (a) all coca derivatives, medicinal cannabis, opium derivatives and poppy straw concentrate; (b) any other narcotic substance or preparation which the Central Government may, having regard to the available information as to its nature or to a decision, if any, under any International Convention, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare to be a manufactured drug; but does not include any narcotic substance or preparation which the Central Government may, having regard to the available information as to its nature, or to a decision, if any, under any International Convention, by notification in the Official.....

Inland Water Ways Authority of India Act, 1985 Section 14

Title: Functions of the Authority

.....of inland waterways; (h) arrange programme of technical training for inland water transport personnel within and outside the country; and (i) perform such other functions as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act. (3) Any dispute arising out of or concerning the compensation referred to in clause (e) of sub-section (1) shall be determined according to the law relating to like disputes in the case of land required for public purposes. (4) Every scheme, prepared by the Authority to carry out functions under sub-sections (1) and (2), involving capital expenditure exceeding the amount as may be prescribed, shall be submitted to the Central Government for approval. Inland Water Ways Authority of India Act, 1985 Section 33

Title: Power of Central Government to Supersede the Authority

(a) extend the period of super session for such further term, not exceeding six months, as it may consider necessary; or (b) reconstitute the Authority by fresh appointment and in such case any persons who vacated their offices under clause (a) of sub-section (2) shall not be deemed disqualified for appointment: Provided that the Central Government may, at any time before the expiration of the period of super session, whether as originally specified under sub-section (1) or as extended under this sub-section, take action under clause (b) of this sub-section. (4) The Central Government shall cause a notification issued under sub-section (1) and a full report of any action taken under this section and the circumstances leading to such action to be laid before each House of Parliament at the earliest opportunity.

Inland Water Ways Authority of India Act, 1985 Section 35

Title: Power to Make Regulations

.....Authority may, with the previous approval of the Central Government, by notification in the Official Gazette, make regulations consistent with this Act and the rules generally to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such regulations may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely: - (a) the manner in which and the purposes for which, the Authority may associate with itself any person under sub-section (4) of section 3; (b) the terms and conditions of service of the Secretary and other officers and employees of the Authority under sub-section (2) of section 8; (c) the contracts or class or contracts which are to be sealed with the common seal of the Authority and the form and manner in which a contract may be made by the Authority. Title: Inland Waterways Authority of India (Amendment) Act, 2001

Amendment of section 3 In the Inland Waterways Authority of India Act, 1985 (82 of 1985) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 3, for sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely;-- "(3) The Authority shall consist of the following members, namely: -- (a) a Chairman; (b) a Vice-Chairman; (c) not more than three full-time members; and (d) not more than three part-time members, to be appointed by the Central Government by notification in the Official Gazette.". 3.
