.....the body constituted for the administration of a commune panchayat under this Act; (7) "company" means any company is defined in the Companies Act, 1956 (Central Act 1 of 1956), and includes " (a) any foreign company within the meaning of section 591 of that Act: (b) any co-operative society registered or deemed to be registered under the law relating to co-operative societies for the time being in force; and (c) any body corporate, or any firm or association carrying on business in the Union territory whether incorporated or not and whether its principal place of business is situated in the said Union territory or not; (8) "Director" means a Director appointed under section 195 and also includes any officer authorized by the Government to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Director; (9) "election authority" means such authority, not being president or vice-president or a member of the village panchayat or the chairman or vice-chairman or a member of the commune panchayat council as the Government may, by notification, appoint; (10) "executive authority" means, in the case of a village panchayat having an executive officer, the executive officer.....

.....No.1032/64 -FI) SRO C-3/74 " By virtue of the powers conferred by Article 227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 27 of the Legal Practitioners' Act, 1879 (Central Act XVIII of 1879) and all other powers thereunto enabling and in supersession of all Rules relating to the fees payable to legal practitioners and incorporated in Section C, Chapter X, Part II of the Civil Rules of Practice and Circular Orders, Volume I (1941 Edition), the High Court hereby makes the following Rules, with the previous approval of the Governor of Tamil Nadu :" 1. Short title, commencement and application " These Rules may be called the Legal Practitioners' Fees Rules, 1973. They shall come into force as and from the date of publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and shall apply to all proceedings pending on that date and all proceedings initiated thereafter. NOTES According to Article 227 (1) of the Constitution, every High Court shall have superintendence over all Courts and Tribunals throughout the Territories in relation to which it exercises jurisdiction. Title: Repeal of Mulki Rules

Upon the commencement of this Act, the Mulki Rules as in force immediately before such commencement shall, notwithstanding anything contained in the Mulki Rules Act, 1972, (79 of 1972) cease to have effect and are hereby repealed: Provided that such repeal shall not affect the validity of any appointment previously made in accordance with those rules.

The Meghalaya Sugar Dealer Licensing Order, 1973 Complete Act

.....sale, of Sugar in quantities exceeding 2 Quintals or more at any one time but does not include an Industrial undertaking which is engaged in the Manufacture of Production of Sugar and which is Registered or Licensed under the Industries [Development and Regulation] Act, 1951. (b) "form" means a Form set forth in the Schedule to this Order. (c) "licensing authority" means the Director of Supply, the Deputy Commissioner /the Sub " Divisional officer in their respective jurisdiction or an Officer appointed by the State govt. to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Licensing Authority under this Order. (d) "retailer" means a Dealer who is not a Wholesaler. (e) "State Government" means the Govt. of the State of Meghalaya. (f) "Sugar deals" any form of Sugar, including Khansari Sugar containing more than 90 % of sucrose. (g) "wholesaler" means a Dealer who sell Sugar to other Dealer or to bulk Consumers. 03. Licensing of Dealers:- (1) No Person shall carry on business as a Dealer except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a Licence issued in this behalf by the Licensing Authority. In exercise of the Powers conferred by Section - 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, [ Act 10 of 1955] read with the Notification of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Food) NO. GSR. 316 (E), dated the 20th June, 1972, the Governor of Meghalaya is pleased to make the following Order, namely:- (i) This Order may be called the Meghalaya Food [ Restriction on Service of Meals by Catering Establishment] Order , 1973 . (ii) It extends to the whole of the State of Meghalaya. (iii) It shall come into force at once. Definition:- In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires:- (i) " catering establishment" includes a Hotel, Restaurant, Eating House, Caf , tea Shop, Coffee Stall, Free Feeding Centre, Club, Boarding House, Canteen, Railway Refreshment, Room or Restaurant Car and any other place of refreshment open to the Public; (ii) " Substantial Dish" means a Dish described as such in the Schedule to this Order. (iii) " Subsidiary Dish" means a Dish described as such in the Schedule to this Order. No Proprietor, or other Person in charge of a Catering Establishment.....
