CABLE TELEVISION NETWORKS (REGULATION) ACT, 1995 CABLE TELEVISION NETWORKS (REGULATION) ACT, 1995 [Act No. 7 of Year 1995, dated 25-3-1995] Promulgated by the President in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India. An Act to regulate the operation of cable television networks in the country and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER 1: PRELIMINARY SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act,1995. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of September, 1994. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "cable operator' means any person who provides cable service through a cable television network or otherwise controls or is responsible for the management and operation of a cable television network; (b) "cable service" means the transmission by cables of programmes including re-transmission by cable of any broadcast television signals; (c) "cable television network" means.....

THE KERALA BEEDI AND CIGAR WORKERS' WELFARE FUND ACT, 1995 [1] THE KERALA BEEDI AND CIGAR WORKERS' WELFARE FUND ACT, 1995 [1] (ACT 18 OF 1995) An Act to provide for the constitution of a fund to grant relief to, promote the welfare of, and to pay pension to beedi and cigar workers and self-employed persons in beedi and cigar industries in the State of Kerala. Preamble. "WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the constitution of a fund to grant relief to, to promote the welfare of and to pay pension to beedi and cigar workers and self-employed persons in beedi and cigar industries in the State of Kerala and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto; BE it enacted in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows: " 1. Short title, extent and commencement. "(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Beedi and Cigar Workers' Welfare Fund Act, 1995. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. 2. .....the State Government, any local authority or person for anything which is in good faith or in public interest done or intended to be done under this Act. SECTION 07: ACT TO OVERRIDE OTHER LAWS The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other law for the time being in force. SECTION 08: REMOVAL OF DIFFICULTIES If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Act, the State Government may, as occasion requires, by order, do anything not inconsistent with the objects and purposes of this Act, which appears to it to be necessary or expedient for the purpose of removing the difficulty Provided that no such order shall be made after the expiry of a period of two years from the date of commencement of this Act. SECTION 09: REPEAL OF MAH. I OF 1995 AND SAVING (1) The Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Ordinance, 1995 (Mah. Ord I of 1995) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken, as the case may be, under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
