Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 Chapter 85

Title: Electrical Machinery and Equipment and Parts Thereof; Sound Recorders and Reproducers, Television Image and Sound Recorders and Reproducers, and Parts and Accessories of Such Articles

For the classification of the articles defined in this Note, headings 8541 and 8542 shall take precedence over any other heading in this Schedule which might cover them by reference to, in particular, their function. 6. Records, tapes and other media of heading 8523 or 8524 remain classified in those headings, when they are presented with the apparatus for which they are intended. This Note does not apply to such media when they are presented with articles other than the apparatus for which they are intended. 7. For the purposes of heading 8548, "spent primary cells, spent primary batteries and spent electric accumulators" are those which are neither usable as such because of breakage, cutting-up, wear or other reasons, nor capable of being recharged. 8. ....."lives stock" includes buffaloes, bulls, bullocks, camels, cows, donkeys goats, horses, mules, pigs, sheeps, yaks and also their young;] (19) "Manufacturer" means a manufacturer of animal articles; (20) "Meat" includes blood, bones, sinew, eggs, fat and flesh, whether raw or cooked, of any wild animal, other than vermin; (21) "National Park" means an area declared, whether under setion 35 of section 38, or deemed, under sub-section (3) of section 66, to be declared, as a National Park; (22) "Notification" means a noification published in the Official Gazette; (23) "Permit" means a permit granted under this Act or any rule made thereunder; (24) "Person" includes a firm; (25) "Prescribed" means by rules made under this Act; 1[(25A) "recognised zoo" means a zoo recognised under section 38H; (25B) "reserve forest" means the forest declared to reserved by the State Government under section 20 of the Indian Forest Act,1927 (16 of 1927);] (26) "sanctuary" means an area declared, whether under section 2[26A] or section 66, to be declared as wild life sanctuary; 2[(27) "specified plant" means any plant specified in Schedule VI;] (28) "special game" means any animal specified in Schedule.....
