.....byParliament in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I. PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement (1) This Act may becalled the Finance Act, 2006. (2) Save as otherwiseprovided in this Act, sections 2 to 57 shall be deemed to have come into forceon the 1st day of April, 2006. CHAPTER II. RATES OF INCOME-TAX 2. Income-tax (1) Subject to theprovisions of sub-sections (2) and (3), for the assessment year commencing onthe 1st day of April, 2006, income-tax shall be charged at the rates specifiedin Part I of the First Schedule and such tax as reduced by the rebate ofincome-tax calculated under Chapter VIII-A of the Income-tax Act, 1961(43 of1961) (hereinafter referred to as the Income-tax Act) shall be increased by asurcharge for purposes of the Union calculated in each case in the mannerprovided therein. FACTORIES ACT, 1948 FACTORIES ACT, 1948 63 of 1948 An Act to consolidate and amend the law regulating labour in factories. WHEREAS it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law regulating labour in factories; It is hereby enacted as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Factories Act, 1948. 1[(2) It extends to the whole of India 2[***]]. (3) It shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1949. Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 Complete Act

.....SECTION 09: IMPOSITION OF CESS ON SCHEDULED INDUSTRIES IN CERTAIN CASES (1) There may be levied and collected as a cess for the purposes of this Act on all goods manufactured or produced in any such scheduled industry as may be specified in this behalf by the Central Government by notified order a duty of excise at such rate as may be specified in the notified order, and different rates may be specified for different goods or different classes of goods: Provided that no such rate shall in any case exceed 13 paise per cent of the value of the goods. (2) The cess shall be payable at such intervals, within such time and in such manner as may be prescribed, and any rules made in this behalf may provide for the grant of a rebate for prompt payment of the cess. (3) The said cess may be recovered in the same manner as an arrear of land revenue. (4) The Central Government may hand over the proceeds of the cess collected under this section in respect of the goods manufactured or produced by any scheduled industry or group of scheduled industries to the Development Council established for that industry or group of industries, and where it does so, the Development Council shall utilise.....

Inflammable Substances Act, 1952 Complete Act

.....SUBSTANCES - (1) The Central Government may, by1notification in the Official Gazette, apply any or all of the provisions of the Petroleum Act and of the rules made thereunder, with such modifications as it may specify, to any dangerously inflammable substance, and thereupon the provisions so applied shall have effect as if such substance had been included in the definition of "petroleum" under this Act. (2) The Central Government may make rules providing specially for the testing of any dangerously inflammable substance to which any of the provisions of the Petroleum Act have been applied by notification under sub-section (1), and such rules may supplement any of the provisions of Chapter II of that Act in order to adopt them to the special needs of such tests. SECTION 05: OPERATION OF CERTAIN NOTIFICATIONS AND RULES - Notifications or rules issued or purporting to have been issued undersection 30 of the Petroleum Actbetween the 1st day of April, 1937, and the date of commencement of this Act shall be deemed to have been issued or made under this Act, and continue in force accordingly.
