Chhattisgarh State Rajmarg Adhiniyam, 2003 Complete Act

.....of such highway, by notification issued under subsection (1) of Section 12; (n) the expression "land", "person interested" and "person entitled to act" used in this Act shall have the same meaning as the said expression have in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894; (o) "occupier" includes :-- (i) any person who for the time being is paying or is liable to pay to the owner rent or any portion of the rent of the premises in respect of which such rent is paid or is payable; (ii) an owner living in or otherwise using his premises; (iii) a rent free tenant; (iv) a licensee in occupation of any premises; and (v) any person who is liable to pay to the owner damages for the use and occupation of any premises; (p) "Owner" means :-- (a) when used with reference to any premises, the person who receives the rent of the said premises or who would be entitled to receive the rent thereof if the premises were let and includes; (i) an agent or trustee who receives the rent, or is entrusted with or concerned for, any premises devoted to religious or charitable purposes; (ii) an agent or trustee who receives the rent of, or is entrusted with, or concerned for, any premises devoted.....

Section 2 - Definitions In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-- (a) "appointed day", in relation to a Tribunal, means the date on which such Tribunal is established under sub-section (1) of section 5; (b) "building" means any work of construction done in any manner by use of any material and includes a farm building for agricultural purposes, plinth, doorstep, wall, drain, advertisement board and other things fixed with such building; (c) "construct" with its grammatical variations, in relation to a building, means to construct, reconstruct, erect, re-erect, extend or alter structurally a building; (d) "cost of land" means the market value of the land as determined by the competent authority of the State Government or the Government of the Union territory appointed for such determination, as the case may be; (e) "Highway" means a National Highway declared as such under section 2 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) and includes any Expressway or Express Highway vested in the Central.....

Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002 Complete Act

.....Government or which do not already vest in the Central Government but have been acquired for the purpose of Highway shall, for the purposes of this Act, and other Central Acts, be deemed to be the property of the Central Government as owner thereof. (2) The Highway Administration shall cause to be maintained a record in the prescribed manner in which the particulars of the lands, relating to the Highway, of which the Central Government is the owner shall be entered and the entries of the particulars of such lands in any record maintained for such purpose before the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be the entry of the particulars of such lands made in the first said record and accordingly the Central Government shall be deemed to be the owner of the lands regarding which the entries have been made in such records maintained before the commencement of this Act. (3) Any person claiming against the ownership of the Central Government referred to in subsection (2) shall make written complaint to the Highway Administration and prove his claim before it and the Highway Administration, after considering the evidence produced by such person, may correct such records or.....

ASSAM HIGHWAYS ACT, 1989 ASSAM HIGHWAYS ACT, 1989 [ Act No. 18 of 1995] [ 22nd August, 1995] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the regulation of road development and Road transport in State of Assam Whereas it is expedient to provide generally for the regulation of road development and road transport so as secure for the public such conditions as will ensure the maximum efficiency of all means of road along roads, in the State of Assam. It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth year of the Republic of India as follows, namely : Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Assam Highways Act, 1989. The Assam Town and Country Planning Act, 1959 Complete Act

.....for any purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the dwelling house as such. (8) "Factory" means a place to which the provisions of the Indian Factories Act of 1934 or any amendment thereof shall apply. (9) "Industrial Concern" means a commercial body e.g. a factory, workshop and a mill or any concern of similar nature where materials are manufactured repaired altered or processed. Title: National Highways to Vest in the Union

All national highways shall vest in the Union, and for the purposes of this Act "highways" include-- (i) all lands appurtenant thereto, whether demarcated or not; (ii) all bridges, culverts, tunnels, causeways, carriageways and other structures constructed on or across such highways; and (iii) all fences, trees, posts and boundary, furlong and milestones of such highways or any land appurtenant to such highways.
