THE KERALA GENERAL SALES TAX (AMENDMENT ) ACT, 20001 THE KERALA GENERAL SALES TAX (AMENDMENT ) ACT, 20001 (Act 8 of 2000) An Act further to amend the Kerala General Sales Tax Act, 1963. Preamble:•WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Kerala General Sales Tax Act, 1963 (15 of 1963) for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:• 1. Short title and commencement.• (1) This Act may be called the Kerala General Sales Tax (Amendment) Act, 2000. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January, 2000. 2. Amendment of section 4.• In the Kerala General Sales Tax Act, 1963 (15 of 1963) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) in clause, (c) of sub-section (3) of section 4, for the words "one lakh rupees" the words "one lakh fifty thousand rupees" shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of section 5.• In section 5 of the principal Act,• (1) in clause (iii) of sub-section (1), for the words "at the rate of six per cent at all points of such transfer on an aggregate turnover of rupees two lakh and above" the words "at the rate of eight per.....

.....Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Designs Act, 2000 (2) It extends to the whole of India. Title: Presumption as to Offences Under Section 3

(1) In a prosecution for an offence of organized crime punishable under section 3, if it is proved. - (a) That unlawful arms and other material including documents or papers were recovered from possession of the accused and there is reason to believe that such unlawful arms and other material including documents or papers were used in the commission of such offence; or (b) That the evidence of an expert, the finger prints of the accused were found at the site of the offence or on anything including unlawful arms and other material including documents or papers and vehicle used in connection with the commission of such offence, the Special Court shall presume, unless the contrary is proved, that the accused had committed such offence. (2) In a prosecution for an offence of organized crime punishable under sub-section (2) of section 3, if it is proved that the accused provided any financial assistance to a person accused of, or reasonably suspected of, an offence of organized crime, the Special Court shall presume, unless the contrary is proved, that such person has committed the offence under the said sub-section (2).

Title: Obligation to Perform the Examination Work

(1) Any person who is entrusted with the examination work relating to paper setting, invigilation, supervision, evaluation, conduct of practical examinations, printing of question papers and answer books, tabulation and preparation of marks cards and all such activities incidental thereto and connected therewith shall discharge such duties prudently and with utmost integrity for attainment of the academic standards.
