Regulation 2 Definitions .-(1) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires- (a) "Act" means the Insurance Act, 1938 (4 of 1938); (b) "Authority" means the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority established under sub-section (1) of S.3 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999 (41 of 1999); (c) All words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Insurance Act, 1938 (4 of 1938), or in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999 (41 of 1999), or in the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956) shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in those Acts. Regulation 3 Preparation of financial statements, management report and auditor's report (1) An insurer carrying on life insurance business, after the commencement of these Regulations, shall comply with the requirements of Schedule A. (2) An insurer carrying on general insurance business, after the commencement of these regulations, shall comply with the requirements of Schedule B : Provided that this sub-regulation shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to re-insurers, until separate regulations are.....

.....Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows :- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Finance Act, 2000. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, Sections 2 to 77 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 2000. SECTION 02: INCOME TAX (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3), for the assessment year commencing on the 1st day of April, 2000, income-tax shall be charged at the rates specified in Part I of the First Schedule and such tax as reduced by the rebate of income-tax calculated under Chapter VIII-A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) (hereinafter referred to as the Income Tax Act) shall be increased,- (a) in the cases to which Paragraphs A, B, C and D of that Part apply, by a surcharge for purposes of the Union; and (b) in the cases to which Paragraph E of that Part applies, by a surcharge, calculated in each case in the manner manner provided therein. Title: Substitution of New Section for Section 10a

Finance Act, 2000 Section 35

Title: Amendment of Section 80hhd

In section 80HHD of the Income-tax Act, in sub-section (1), for the portion beginning with the words "in computing the total income of the assessee, a deduction of a sum equal to the aggregate of-" and ending with the words, brackets and figure "manner laid down in sub-section (4)", the following shall be substituted with effect from the 1st day of April, 2001, namely:- "in computing the total income of the assessee- (a) for an assessment year beginning on the 1st day of April, 2001, a deduction of a sum equal to the aggregate of- (i) forty per cent. of the profits derived by him from services provided to foreign tourists; and (ii) so much of the amount not exceeding forty per cent. of the profits referred to in sub-clause (i) as is debited to the profit and loss account of the previous year in respect of which the deduction is to be allowed and credited to a reserve account to be utilised for the purposes of the business of the assessee in the manner laid down in sub-section (4); (b) for an assessment year beginning on the 1st day of April, 2002, a deduction of a sum equal to the aggregate of- (i) thirty per cent. of the profits derived by him from services provided.....

Section 50 - Annual Report (1) The Syndicate shall prepare the annual report containing all the particulars highlighting the activities of the University, target and achievements concerning each financial year and submit it to the Academic Council before 30th June. The Academic Council may pass resolutions thereon and refer back the annual report to the Syndicate for compliance. The Syndicate shall take action in accordance therewith. The action taken thereon shall be intimated to the Academic Council at its earliest next meeting. (2) Copies of the annual report incorporating the resolutions of the Academic Council shall be submitted to the State Government before 30th of September every year.
