Title: Repeal of Certain Laws of Part C States

The laws described in column 2 of the Schedule whether by their titles or as laws corresponding to certain specified enactments shall, in relation to the State specified in the corresponding entry in column 1, be repealed or be deemed to have been repealed with effect from the date specified in the corresponding entry in column 3.

Title: Savings

The repeal by this Act of any law shall not affect any other enactment in which the repealed law has been applied, incorporated or referred to; and this Act shall not affect the validity, invalidity, effect or consequences of anything already done or suffered, or any right, title, obligation or liability already acquired, accrued or incurred, or any remedy or proceeding in respect thereof, or any release or discharge of or from any debt, penalty, obligation, liability, claim or demand, or any indemnity already granted, or the proof of any past act or thing; nor shall this Act affect any principle or rule of law or established jurisdiction, form or course of pleading, practice or procedure, or existing usage, custom, privilege, restriction, exemption, office, or appointment notwithstanding that the same respectively may have been in any manner affirmed, recognised, or derivd by, in or from any law hereby repealed; nor shall the repeal by this Act of any law revive or restore any jurisdiction, office, custom, liability right, title, privilege, restriction, exemption, usage, practice procedure or other matter or thing not now existing or in force.

After the date of the Will and before the death of the testator, E and F were born, and acquired the reputation of being children of B. Only C and D are objects of the bequest. (vi) A makes a bequest in favour of his child by a certain woman, not his wife. B had acquired at the date of the Will the reputation of being the child of A by the woman designated. B takes the legacy. (vii) A makes a bequest in favour of his child to be born of a woman who never becomes his wife. The bequest is void. (viii) A makes a bequest in favour of the child of which a certain woman, not married to him, is pregnant. The bequest is void.

Title: Death of Party to a Proceeding

If a person who is a party to a proceeding under this Act (not being a proceeding in a court) dies pending the proceeding, the Registrar may, on request, and on proof to his satisfaction of the transmission of the interest of the deceased person, substitute in the preceding his successor in interest in his place, or, if the Registrar is of opinion that the interest of the deceased person is sufficiently represented by the surviving parties, permit the proceeding to continue without the substitution of his successor in interest.

Title: Sufficient Drainage of Houses

(1) If any building or land in a panchayat area is, at any time, under drained, or not drained to the satisfaction of the Grama Panchayat, the Grama Panchayat may, by written notice call upon the owner to construct or lay from such building or land a drain or pipe of such size and materials, at such level, and with such fall as it thinks necessary for the drainage of such building or land into,- (a) some drain or sewer, if there is a suitable drain or sewer within sixteen meters of any part of such building or land, or (b) a covered cess pool to be provided by such owner. (2) It shall not be lawful newly to erect any building or to rebuild any building or to occupy any building newly erected or rebuilt in a panchayat area unless and until,- (a) a drain is constructed of such size, materials and description, at such level, and with such fall, as shall appear to the Grama Panchayat to be necessary for the effectual drainage of such building, or (b) there have been provided for and set up in such building and in the land appurtenant thereto all such appliances and fittings as may appear to the Grama Panchayat to be necessary for the purposes of gathering and receiving the.....

Title: Over-riding Effect of This Chapter

The provisions of this chapter shall have effect notwithstanding anything in,- (i) any law for the time being in force, or (ii) any award, agreement or contract of service made before or after the date of commencement of this Act, or (iii) any judgment, decree or order of a court, Tribunal or any other authority: Provided that where under any such law, award, agreement, contract of service, judgment, decree or order or otherwise, any employee is entitled to benefits more favourable than accorded under this chapter such teacher or other employee shall continue to be entitled to such benefits: Provided further that nothing in this chapter shall preclude the teacher or other employee from entering into employee shall continue to be entitled to such favorable benefits:
