(7) "building of the warehouse class" means a building, the whole or a substantial part of which is used, or intended to be used, as a warehouse, factory, manufactory, brewery, or distillery, or for any similar purpose, which is neither a "domestic building" nor a "public building" as defined in this section, and includes a hut used or intended to be used for any of the purposes mentioned in this clause; (8) "bustee" means an area containing land not less than seven hundred square metres in area occupied by or for the purposes of any collection of huts or other structures used or intended to be used for human habitation. .....Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Designs Act, 2000 (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS -In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "article" means any article of manufacture and any substance, artificial, or partly artificial and partly natural; and includes any part of an article capable of being made and sold separately; (b) "Controller" means the Controller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks referred to inSec.3-; (c) "copyright" means the exclusive right to apply a design to any article in any class in which the design is registered; (d) "design" means only the features of shape, configuration, pattern, ornament or composition.....
