The Maharashtra Unemployment Allowance to Workmen in Factories (for Temporary Period) Act, 1976 Complete Act

.....Badli card and who is employed in a factory in place of another workman who is temporarily absent and whose name is borne on the muster roll of the factory; (b) "factory" means any premises including precincts thereof wherein ten or more workers are working or were working on any day of the preceding twelve months, and in any part of which a manufacturing process is being carried on with the aid of power, or is ordinarily so carried on, but does not include a factory in respect of which the Central Government is the appropriate Government in relation to industrial disputes concerning it under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947; (c) "Manager" means the person who is for the time being managing the factory, and includes any other officer duly authorised by the employer to act as Manager, such authorisation being notified to the workmen by displaying it on the notice board of the factory; (d) "permanent workman" means a workman who has been employed on a permanent basis or whose appointment has been confirmed in writing by the Manager or by a person duly authorised in this behalf by the Manager, and includes a workman who has completed a probationary period of three months in the.....

Section 22 - Continuing breaches and torts In the case of a continuing breach of contract or in the case of a continuing tort, a fresh period of limitation begins to run at every moment of the time during which the breach or the tort, as the case may be, continues. Section 23 - Suits for compensation for acts not actionable without special damage In the case of a suit for compensation for an act which does not give rise to a cause of action unless some specific injury actually results therefrom, the period of limitation shall be computed from the time when the injury results. Section 24 - Computation of time mentioned in instruments All instruments shall for the purposes of this Act be deemed to be made with reference to the Gregorian calendar.

Section 132 - Limitation of hours of work (1) A railway servant whose employment is essentially intermittent shall not be employed for more than seventy-five hours in any week. (2) A railway servant whose employment is continuous shall not be employed for more than fifty-four hours a week on an average in a two weekly period of fourteen days. (3) A railway servant whose employment is intensive shall not be employed for more than forty-five hours a week on an average in a two weekly period of fourteen days. Title: Notice of Periods of Work for Adults

.....not be working in contravention of any of the provisions of sections 51 , 52 , 54 ,1[ 55 , 56 and 58 ]. ( 3 ) Where all the adult workers in a factory are required to work during the same periods, the manager of the factory shall fix those periods for such workers generally. Forest Act, 1963 Section 45

Title: Period of Management

.....be extended by notification for successive periods of not more than ten years each: Provided that the period of such management shall not in the aggregate exceed thirty years from the date of publication of the notification under sub-section (1) of section 43 assuming management of the forest. (2) The Forest Officer under whose management the forest is placed shall, not later than six months before the expiry of any period referred to in sub-section (1), make a report to the State Government regarding such control and shall state therein whether in his opinion, any period of management should be extended. (3) After considering any such report and subject to sub-section (1), the State Government shall decide whether to extend any period of management or whether to terminate it in the manner provided in section 46. (4) No period of management shall be extended unless the owner has been given reasonable opportunity of showing cause against such extension and the State Government is satisfied that such extension is necessary for the preservation and protection of the forest.

Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 Section 10A

Title: Extension of Period of Detention

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in any other provision of this Act, the detention of every person detained under a detention order which has been confirmed under clause (f) of section 8 read with sub-section (2) of section 9 before the commencement of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities (Amendment) Act, 1976, and which is in force immediately before such commencement, shall, unless his detention has been continued by the appropriate Government under the said clause (f) read with the said sub-section (2), for a period shorter than two years from the date of his detention, continue until the expiry of a period of two years from the date of his detention under such order or until the expiry of the specified period, whichever period expires later: Provided that nothing contained in this sub-section shall affect the power of the appropriate Government to revoke or modify such detention order at any earlier time.] ________________________ 1.
