.....council of ministers. (3) If any question arises whether any matter is or is not a matter as respects which the Governor-General is by or under this Act required to act in his discretion or to exercise his individual judgment, the decision of the Governor-General in his discretion shall be final, and the validity of anything done by the Governor-General shall not be called in question on the ground that he ought or ought not to have acted in his discretion, or ought or ought not to have exercised his individual judgment]. SECTION 10: OTHER PROVISIONS AS TO MINISTERS (1) The Governor-General's ministers shall be chosen and summoned by him, shall be sworn as members of the council, and shall hold office during his pleasure. (2) A minister who for any period of six consecutive months is not a member of15[either Chamber of] the Federal Legislature shall at the expiration of that period cease to be a minister. (3) The salaries of ministers shall be such as the Federal Legislature may from time to time by Act determine and, until the Federal Legislature so determine, shall be determined, by the Governor-General: Provided that the salary of a minister shall not be varied during his term.....

(3) Notwithstanding anything in this section, if the Governor-Generalor, as the case may be, the Governor of any Province, by public notificationcertifies that for the prevention of any grave menace to the peace ortranquillity of any part of India or, as the case may be, of any part ofthe Province, or for the purpose of combating crimes of violence intendedto overthrow the Government, it is expedient that the operation of theprovisions of sub-section (1) of this section should be wholly or partiallysuspended in relation to any law, then while the notification is in forcethe operation of those provisions shall be suspended accordingly. (2) If and in so far as any total or partial exemption from, or preferential treatment in respect of, taxation imposed on companies by or under any Federal or Provincial law depends on compliance with conditions as to any of the matters mentioned in sub-section (1) of this section, any company incorporated by or under the laws of the United Kingdom carrying on business in British India shall be deemed to satisfy those conditions and be entitled to the exemption or preferential treatment accordingly, so long as the taxation imposed by or under the laws of the United Kingdom on companies incorporated by or under the laws of British India and carrying on business in the United Kingdom does not depend on compliance with conditions as to any of the matters so mentioned. _________________________ 1.
